Guys do any of you REALLY think that ANY of these people vote with their heart? Ok maybe 1%
The rest? They get lobbied, threatened, bribed, donated... WHATEVER. On both sides. Things go bump in the night, and that is why things go a certain way.
I am compiling a list so we can act upon this travesty. For now, vomiting in our boots sounds great.

It's insanity! What is the point of the vote then? Just wasting taxpayer $. Just for show? This lady, aside from being a pay for play scumbag and having no experience, plagiarized, stammered, danced around questions, talked about guns fending off grizzly bears, destroyed public schools in Detroit, and doesn't believe special needs kids deserve a quality education as per the federal law. At this point, what would stop them from voting her in? If it came out she was a giant pedophile would they still let her through "with reservations"? Wtf!!! I'm so sick of it all!

No, not yet. Waiting to hear back from Gillibrand's office on this.
In the meantime,
2 GOP Senators can't commit (and they're women)
Two Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins (Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), made clear that they have not yet decided how they will vote on the floor, suggesting that DeVos’s confirmation is not yet assured. Democrats are seeking to block DeVos’s confirmation, but they must vote as a bloc on the floor and convince at least three Republicans to break with the new president.
Collins and Murkowski both said they believe DeVos — a billionaire who has spent decades advocating for charter schools and taxpayer-funded vouchers — has the best interest of children at heart. But the two senators also said they are not yet persuaded that she is prepared to lead the Education Department given her lack of experience in public education.
“She may be unaware of what’s broken in our public schools and how to fix it,” said Murkowski, who said her state includes many isolated rural communities where vouchers and charter schools are not reasonable solutions to what ails education.

She also said she was undecided how she would vote on the Senate floor. I'm guessing she didn't have the guts to be the single person responsible for blocking her but maybe she'll go against her in the next vote. Not sure any other Republicans have spoken against Devos though and wet need a few to keep her out.
Woops, clearly I didn't read the comment above this. So if both of those two vote no we still need at least one more right?

Spoke to Gillibrand and Bernie Sanders' (  ) office and there hasn't been a date set yet. Bernie's office told me the Senator in charge of this is Texas Republican John Cornyn. I contacted his office for more info, but no one is there. I emailed them, awaiting a response.

I feel so defeated. I've mentioned it here, but without the support of IDEA, I never would have been educated. I never would have graduated from HS, much less college. IDEA is the sole reason I am employed, an active member of the community and a tax paying citizen. I know it's not a danger in NY, but it petrifies me that she wants to give the power to enforce IDEA back to the states. I am devastated and I weep for all the children.
