Did anyone have a shower even if the twins were not your first pregnancy?

I am due with Chat Icon Chat Icon March 30th. I have 2 boys- my older one is 3.5, my younger one is 18 months. I obviously had a shower when I was pg with my first. I was team Chat Icon my first time so all of the gear and some of the newborn clothes are gender neutral. But I know I am going to need girl clothes, 2 infant car seats, 2 convertible car seats, new bottles, bibs, things like that. DH and I are 100% FINE with buying everything for the girls ourselves. We would never dream of asking anyone to through us a party. However, I met my BFF for lunch today and she mentioned that she would like to throw me a small shower since the twins are girls and I have 2 boys. My parents offered to buy the infant seats, my in laws are buying the cribs. The clothes, bibs, bottles, etc. we can buy ourselves. She seemed so excited so I didn't want to tell her no. I just don't want people to judge a shower for the 3rd pregnancy. It would be nowhere near as big as my 1st shower- probably 20 people this time around. Thoughts?

My mom, sister and godmother threw me a sprinkle for the twins. It was smaller than my shower for my first but they wanted to celebrate. I did not register for any big items as I got most second hand or I had the big items from the first two. I did register for things like new bottles, nipples, burp cloths, things like that. Since I didn't know what I was having gender specific things like clothes I did not get. I got a lot of gift cards and diapers plus the some of the things I registered for. After the boys were born, I got a lot of clothes and people were very generous again with money, clothes and gift cards at their christening. I say go for it. You will need a lot of the basics like diapers, wipes, bottles, etc.

If someone is offering I absolutely would let them. I have triplet boys and if I ever have a girl I would love a little "sprinkle" ( see, it's so common there's even a word for it now!)
