here are some thoughts:
a & d ointment
small powder (not talc)
nose saline (for use with the boogie sucker)
vasaline (if you need to take temps, or if you have a boy)
I bought the alc. packets (for the umbil. cord) too
oh, and lanolin creme for you if you plan on BF

Also I would suggest joining a BJ's, Price Club or Costco. I stocked up and havent had to buy a thing so far.... I dont think I will have to buy anything for the first year!

cvs makes a generic mylicon (gas drops) -- get the non staining one.

Also if you plan to breastfeed you'll need disposable nursing pads to catch the leaks.
Baby shampoo.
Rectal thermometer. (Fun, fun, fun!)
Stool softener (For you postpartum, more fun!)
