behavior in school

If you werent "the best" behaved kid in school do you worry that your kids may follow suit? I was HORRIBLE in middle school and HS not grade wise but behaior wise....my little guy graduated elementary school today so I will have two in middle school and all I could think at his graduation was ....that I pray they dont put me through what I put my parents through. Is this normal?

Re: behavior in school

I think about this and DS is only going into 1st grade. Like you, grade wise, I always excelled but once I was in high school (especially senior year) I was a nightmare. My poor parentsChat Icon

I worry about their behavior but I've seen both of my kids come into their own lately. I'm hoping delinquency isn't genetic. The stories that DH has told me are Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I, on the other hand, was very well behaved.Chat Icon Chat Icon

I worry about one of mine and he is only entering kindergarten. He is going to give the teachers hell. I expect there will be tons of meeting with the principal. I was a pain in the *** in school too, got good grades but was a pain in the ***.

Re: behavior in school

I worry but not because of how I or DH was in school but because of how DS is in school now.

He is not a bad kid at all but he is chatty and he can be distracted easily. Other than those issues I can't complain so far. Thank God.Chat Icon Chat Icon

In elementary school DH and I were both pretty good kids. Everything DS is except for the chattiness. Chat Icon High school we were both....horrible.Chat Icon Chat Icon I pray DS won't be that way but so far it doesn't look like he will. He shows more of my sister personality. She never got in trouble in school so I guess that's a good thing.

Re: behavior in school

I was a goodie goodie in high school (not a tattler, but just a good girl). I followed the rules and didn't do anything to get into trouble.

DH on the other hand, CONSTANTLY reminds me that he wasn't always a business man Chat Icon

I really hope our kids are a mixture of us both!

Re: behavior in school

I didn't have any challenges in school so I don't mind if they take after me.

BUT.. Rob was painfully shy and really socially awkward when he was in school. He HATED school with a passion. I feel like Noah is kind of starting that type of pattern and it makes me nervous!
