thanking mom (grandma)
hi! i am new to this site and been reading post about a week it seem that everyone wants to help and be honest in their opinion. a little about me-we live in upper maine(yes it's cold) and my mom who normally live in fl. with my dad has been with us since ds was 4mon. she goes back to fl. 1 weekend a month for warmth and sanity..ha ha. i work 2 jobs ( 8hr for the med ben and the other 4hr to pay back school.) at least 2 more yrs. not enough time. dh travels 2-3 days for tech co. ds is now 1yr old! we are having a small party for ds in a club with 25 folk(did i just say folk) and we want to thank grandma for all that she's done (she's done it all) and have her grandson walk past everybody and give her a nice gift with hug/kiss, she will definately cry! is this wrong (this is what i want) or should we thank her in private.
ps dh and i would like to try again and my mom said it's ok with her. (she 'll be 63) but very active.

Re: thanking mom (grandma)
I think it's fine to thank her & give her a special public acknowledgement for all of her support. But you know your mom best. As long as she's comfortable with the attention, I say go for it.
