Breastpumps

Can you please tell me what are some good ones?? I've been looking at the medela in style, it is very pricey but might be worth it for me. I'm having twins, and if I am not able to breastfeed, I would still like to be able to pump for them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Breastpumps

I used the Medela Pump In Style backpack one. I got it because I was working FT and had to pump at work. It's quick and efficient. I've only heard great things about it. It is quite pricey, but we used some credit at Babies R' Us and they also had a coupon so it wasn't as expensive. I also figured we were going to be able to use it with future kids. So with twins I think you'll definitely get the use out of it. Good luck!

Re: Breastpumps

I used the Medela pump in style. It was expensive and after giving up breastfeeding after 9 weeks, not worth the money IMO.

But I liked it while I needed it. Very fast and efficient.

mommies and poppies

I purchased the
Ameda® Purely Yours (Ameda/Hollister, Inc.) from the above link. It works as a dual pump or a single pump...you can plug it into the wall or it can run off batteries if you are on the go...they also sell a car adapter...I have been using it for 4 months now and am very happy w/it.

A friend just rented a hospital grade pump from a surgical supply store...cheaper than buying if you know you wont be using it too long...she just needed to buy the accessories that went along with it (like 30$$)

Re: Breastpumps

Ladies, can you tell me the difference between the original and advanced models of the medela pump? Is there a big difference?

I have been using the Medela pump in style advanced for 6 months and I think it is totally worth the money. I bought mine from ebay, new and sealed in the box, and it was much cheaper then BRUs. I think the difference between the original and the advanced is the pumping pattern, the advanced has 2 modes to be more like the baby, Im not sure if it really makes a huge difference.

Re: Breastpumps

I have the Medela Pump In Style Advanced, it was expensive but worth every penny. I went back to work full-time when my son was 12 weeks old and pumped until he was about 6 1/2 months. I was able to pump both sides at once and it was quick. I was usually done in about 10 minutes. From what I hear it is best to get it offline, I unfortunately paid full price at BRU because I was in a jam when I needed to get it. Good luck and congrats on the twins!!

Re: Breastpumps

Thank you so much ladies! Looks like I'm going with the Medela In Style Advanced, it seems like the best one for me.

Re: Breastpumps

I have the regular PIS and the Avent Isis.

I love both and alternate. Sometimes I like being able to double pump other times I like having a free hand to take care of the puppy, write on here (lol) or just feel less like a cow being milked.

Also the Isis is nice because I have it in my diaper bag so If I am out and want to discretly pump in the ladies room or at a friends house I can without hearing... whoosh, whoosh whoosh of the PIS.

Best of Luck!
