ADOPTION & DIVORCE
Hi
Does anyone know what countries along divorced people to adopt. I think CHina doesn't allow single/divorced people to adopt..but I'm not sure where else..Thanks.

go to Commonwealthadoption.org. They have a pretty good list of places and what they allow.

I believe Vietnam allows singles to adopt as my neighbor is looking to do this and she said Vietnam was the only one I think.

Thanks for the website. I went on and the following countries allow single women to adopt: Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Russia & Brazil. China is very strict..and Columbia only allows singles to adopt children over 7 years. Some of the rules are strange and discouraging...

I know AliciaHelene adopted from Brazil..she was married when the process started and got divorced while the adoption was going on...she ended up getting the boys by herself.

Single mothers an adopt from Ethiopia. My husband and I did and it was an wonderful country to adopt from.
If you need any help or info please let me know.
My agency was whfc.org
You can get tons of information from there.
And yes, the mother of the 2 boys did adopt from Ethiopia.

You can adopt from China if you have been divorced. They have timelines on how long you need to be in your current marraige though.
