Weekend trips
anyone have any nice weekend trips that they've been on that they can share. I want to go away maybe not far but something enjoyable. Also has anyone been to salem, MA for halloween? I heard its alot of fun.

My SIL went to Salem last year -- they said it was fun. We went to Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow -- it was kind of a disappointment.
I think the North Fork has some nice activities for Halloween weekend.... great B&Bs too.

I went to Salem years ago for Halloween and it was a lot of fun. It was part of a tour so I don't remember all the places we went but there was a witches dungeon museam that scared the bejessus out of me.
Are you looking for non-halloween themed trips?
Montauk this time of year is really nice...it's cool but not crowded. There are a few vineyards that are open for tastings.
Other suggestions:

Atlantic City
Poconos, PA
New Hope, PA/Lambertville, NJ

I went to Salem, MA 2 years ago and it was so much fun! We went to tons of witch museums and walked through graveyards. It was great!

I went to Salem a few years back. We loved it. (A lot of spiked cidar made it even more spooky)

Salem sounds like fun! Did you go? I haven't been there since I was a kid but I remember loving it back then! I usually do weekend trips in the Poconos.

I didnt go but I would like to in the future. I remember going to the poconos and being bored BUT I did recently hear there is a place their called something??? cove and it is really supposed to be nice.

I am not sure if you were looking for a trip for Halloween.. But we LOVE LOVE LOVE Cape May, NJ... Now is probably a good time to go-- but we have always been there over the summer..
