Is it true cloth diapers will help diaper rash? DS's diaper rash is getting worse.
DS's diaper rash keeps getting worse, I don't know if it is the wipes. Aquaphor and zinc oxid dont seem to cut it. Help please.

Try the pediatrician - maybe it's an infection that will require a prescription.

Abby had one diaper rash and we happened to have a well visit that day. the doctor gave us samples of an Rx cream that wiped it out in one application. Id get it for you but it is in her room and she is sleeping.

Butt Paste always worked for us.
As for the diapers, our pediatrician said NO diaper was best if you could do it. Just a bare butt - the air (and not the warm, moist environment of a diaper) is what helps heal it.

my DS had a really diaper rash when he was 2--3 months and i stopped using the wipes and i would use cotton wash cloth and water and it worked wonders and also they ped gave us a cream

We always used either Maalox or Mylanta if DS got a diaper rash....
Works like a charm.....

It might be a yeast based diaper rash. If it is- you can use Lotrimin or any OTC antifungal cream. Or, you can call the doctor for a prescription.
I also found with regular run of the mill diaper rashes that letting the baby air out naked on a blankey was a tremendous help.

I agree with this and if it doesn't clear up in about 2-3 days then a trip to the peds might be necessary. GL

Cloth is more breathable, so it might help with the rash. I use cloth on my son and really like it.

We use cloth and have never had an issue with diaper rash.
However, if it is really bad you need to clear it up (and switch to cloth  )

I second this! It's expensive ($20 bucks for a big jar) but it's the ONLY thing that worked on my boys diaper rash and did they get them bad!
This stuff literally cleared it up within hours. Nothing else worked for them!
If it does not clear it up then you need to go the pediatrician. He might have a fungel rash that need antibotics.

My DS is in cloth and for the most part has been diaper rash free, but he has gotten an outbreak or two, so I don't think it matters if you use cloth or disposables. You might want to change the diaper more often and I would check with the pediatrician if other stuff you are using is not working.
