something funny (and a little scary) I wanted to share
so we all know I'm half santa:
recently my sister & I reconnected with childhood friends through FB (OF COURSE!) and Amy posted that photo
IMMEDIATELY two of her friends replied with how they remembered the following story:
When we were about 13, 14? Amy had a sleepover with a bunch of her friends and we were in the den watching Texas Chainsaw Masacre.. In the dark etc etc.
MY FATHER comes BURSTING into the room with what I *think* was a power drill. I'm not sure because it sounded like a chainsaw, and I didn't stick around to inspect. He had a burlap bag over his head and busted in with the drill on, powered up LOUD, shaking it over his head....
There was a 2 1/2 - 3" gap btwn the couch and the floor and I swear to you i FIT under the couch I was so scared.
So yeah, if you EVER question what the heck is wrong with Keith Hernandez, this would be ONE of the reasons why...
ooooooooooooh dad!

whats funny is... this is something my DH would do... He tells me stories about his mother scaring the beejesus out of him when they were camping.
and he's always hiding behind corners jumping out at DS & I.
So essentially, I married my father.

My father used to do stuff like that to us too!
I may be dating myself here...
But does anyone remember that movie "When A Stranger Calls" (and not the remake they just did)
Well, I was about 12 and at my very first babysitting job, so I was a little nervous. After I'm there about 2 hours, you guessed it... the phone rings and I hear on the other end "Have you checked the children?" I started to cry, and then heard my father hysterical laughing on the other end of the phone.
Big ol' meanie! And my husband wonders why I am the way I am!
We also used to have this nook next to the stairs going to the upstairs bedrooms, and at the time my father had a beard and mustache. He would wait in the dark for us to go upstairs, shine a flashlight under his face as we were going by and say in a creepy voice "Goooood Eeeeeeevning" Would scare the crap out of us!
