Can I brag about my neighborhood for a minute??
So we closed in June and moved in after we were married in July. Everyone has been so super sweet to us! They actually stop on their way to their car and go out of their way to chat and see how everything is going.
This past snow storm DH and I were out shoveling and one of our neighbors came over and plowed us out! DH tried to give him cash thinking he was just trying to make money, but he said "No, I am your neighbor! We help each other out around here!" He then moved on to do another persons walkway so we started on the driveway. As we start on the driveway, another neighbor yells over, "I will be over in a minute, dont shovel that!" He finished the other neighbors driveway and came over and did ours!
So now we are feeling guilty bc we have two crappy shovels and cant help anyone, so my elderly neighbors were trying to clear off their cars so we helped them out!
Yesterday I get a knock on our door from a neighbor who brought us over fudge, introduced herself, and congratulated us on our first Christmas in our new home. After I closed the door, DH says, "Im liking this neighborhood more and more every day!"
I grew up in a neighborhood like this, but then we moved and the neighbors were just not the same. I was convinced that being part of a neighborhood where people actually cared about others were a thing of the past. I am so happy we moved to this neighborhood!
BTW there are three houses for sale on our block

that is so nice!
we moved in to our house last saturday and when i was at the bank, one of our neighbors came over with cookies :)
it is such a nice feeling!

That sounds like my neighborhood. We have new neighbors. They moved in last week. I baked them pumpkin muffins.
When we moved in our neighbors made us cinnamon rolls and helped us shovel our drive way. We have done the same for others too.

That's so nice! What a great neighborhood!
We moved in a few weeks ago and we met a couple of neighbors but nothing like you are experiencing.
