engagement ring insurance
Do you still insure your engagement ring? I always have but this year the premium was raised significantly. I'm questioning whether I really need to continue to insure it. I know I have insurance through my home owners but it is limited.

Re: engagement ring insurance
It just automatically renews with my home owners. If it went up that significantly I might consider dropping it though at this point

Mine automatically renews as well.
I like to know I have mine as I know as soon as I cancel - I will lose my ring or stone and the cost to replace is a lot more than the cost of insurance.

I would insure it for current replacement cost. Its probably more valuable now than it was when you first got it, so why stop insuring it now?

Re: engagement ring insurance
I actually decided not to renew a couple of years ago, been married 13 years. My engagement ring actually sits in a jewelry box. Idk why I can't wear rings anymore, they are uncomfortable for me.

I feel better because I never wear my rings either. Nor does DH. I don't know, I'm just not a jewelry person and I find it uncomfortable as well. Glad I'm not alone.

Re: engagement ring insurance
we have it in our homeowner's policy which also auto renews. I will have to check to see if it increased; I don't look closely at that so thanks for the heads up.
Neither of us wears our rings anymore; I will wear them if we're going out to an event but otherwise I live in Queens and want to live.

Me too, especially because I am a teacher and constantly washing my hands. My rind does not fit anymore as well. The price did go up a lot over the years, but keep renewing it, but I know I should get it appraised again. I have just been lazy about it.
