It's so bad and I think its because I genuinely love to give gifts. I did all this shopping and my dog has to be rushed to the ER Vet the other day and stay overnight. I am ready to unwrap and start returning things.

I have no idea. We don’t buy for adults, just kids, but there are A LOT (11) kids to buy for. I should start gift wrapping condoms to give the adults.

depending on the year, we spend like 500 to 800 on our daughter and about $300 on dh , sometimes more sometimes less

All I know is we are spending a stupid amount of money this month and last and the majority of it isn't even holiday gift related. Some is, of course, but we bought furniture, etc and I told DH this weekend, I'm too cheap to be spending like this without getting anxiety! 
Luckily he handles the bills because I don't care to see the credit card statements for the next few months, thanks.

Ugghh right there with you. Just had to get a new dishwasher and repairs on dh’s car. I do the bills so I get the anxiety. Fun times.

Trying to limit gifts for the kids especially since we celebrate hanukkah and christmas but it's hard. We used to have a limit of $500 per kid for both holidays combined. I'm probably around that this year but a lot of it is clothes and necessities. But then I have a bunch of nieces and nephews etc to buy for. My husband and I are not exchanging this year. We just had a quick getaway and I said that should be our gift to one another every year. Just go away for a few days somewhere nice...

$240 today alone in local coffee shop gift cards for my 2 kids’ teachers, lunch aides, dance/music instructors, school security guard, crossing guards. I really like giving to the people who personally interact with my kids every day, even if it’s just a $10 token. My kids got into the spirit and took 4 tags from the school’s giving tree (wound up being requests for $25 gift cards and Legos, yikes).

How much money do you spend on Holiday Gifts
I just went through my purchases because I did just about eveything on Amazon...
$300 for me and dh- we got ourselves a robot vac. thats it for us, lol
$630 for both kids total
$200 in gift cards and about $20 in these little hand lotion sets that were 1.50 each at big lots to attach the gift cards to (for daycare helpers, older dd's teacher and bus driver, my coteachers at my job, my teaching assistants)
about $200 in gifts for my in-laws (SIL, BIL, MIL/FIL, and nephew)
About $200 for my side (we limit to $25 each for 2 nieces and 2 nephews, and about $50 for each of my parents)
$50 for godson and $50 for Dh's godson
About $50 for all the stocking stuffers for us
Grand Total: about $1700
Definitely sucks to know that about $750 of that is going toward gifts for others outside of my family. I feel like the expectation to gift to everyone is getting crazy, but all of my close coworkers gift to me so I obviously have to give something in return

I feel like everything has increased in price so much this year. My kids are in high school and middle school. They wanted Broadway tickets. So that is their big gift, and it is more than I normally spend, but I also did not want it to be the only thing they are getting. So if I add it up it is about 1000. I did not do holiday cards this year. My friends and I all agreed our kids are getting older, and I did not do them during the pandemic. I am not sure what to do for that.

Yea, we do that with our siblings with kids. We only buy for the kids now... we have one sister with no children, though, so we buy for her since he's buying for our children.
I don't think I can really avoid the other gifts though. everyone does small, $10 gift cards at work for the people who work with them. I have the best teaching assistants, and they really aren't paid enough. I feel like they also really deserve a gift for all the help they give me.. I don't gift up to my bosses or anything
