What are you cooking or bringing to someone's home?

Both kids are probably going to be working, one might be home for dinner, not sure of their schedules yet. Was thinking of Lasagna.

For those that celebrate Easter

We had all our family over for Palm Sunday and had a ham and turkey with all the fixings. On Easter I'm just making clam sauce and fried shrimp and salad. My favorites and too bad for everyone else lol.

We are either having turkey or ham with the fixings as well.

Usually when we go to visit family, we just bring cookies or brownies for dessert.

Re: For those that celebrate Easter

i usually do brunch and i cook up a storm.

if you're leaning more towards dinner and you're not sure who will be home at what time. i would go with either a lasagna or a ham. both are delish and can easily accommodate different eating times.

side note: i can't wait for easter NEXT YEAR. i'll be back to hosting easter brunch for the familia.

That is very exciting. My sibling goes to my parents home so we never have Easter with family. It will be quiet but I don't mind. Everyone is older anyway so no more little kids and the excitement. Now it is a few things of candy, gift cards or cash lol.

My mom hosts and she does lamb and ham. Then she has salad, scalloped potatoes and every vegetable that you can think of. She gets carried away.

I am bringing roasted brussel sprouts and a carrot cake.

For those that celebrate Easter

We cater Easter from a local Italian restaurant. We get penne ala vodka, raspberry chicken, chicken parm and eggplant rollatini. My kids are still little so cooking is out of the question.

Do you have a lot of people coming so it is easier to just cater?

My Dad caters all the holidays now. (Except Thanksgiving when we go out to dinner as our new tradition)
We don't have a ton of people- really just us but it's so much easier than cooking everything, shopping etc

Plus I like restaurant food better than home made anyway.

My DAD is catering. I don't even host. He does Christmas and Easter and we go out for Thanksgiving and it's HEAVEN.
Actually I do host Mother's Day and I cook brunch for that. I never get to relax on my mother's day. But it is what it is.

I love hosting but I get the getting ready and clean up part. I don't think I have ever relaxed in 20 something years for Mother's Day and I don't even have people over Chat Icon Chat Icon
