And honestly for Will as black man to march up and punch another black man at an award show which has proven to leave out black people is ridiculous. He should know better and do better, there were a million other ways to handle that situation and the joke wasn’t that serious to warrant all that. Will Smith doing too much.
Also I feel like he was also being a bully. If it was Jay z, 50 cent, Eminem or the rapper that screwed his wife who made that joke would he have gone up and slapped that person? I don’t think so. Will Smith knew he could get that off the on Chris Rock.

Just saying as a punch just sounds worse (not speaking just in this case but for all).
Like i said I didn’t watch. Some were saying slap, others punch but a hit is a hit. And while a punch may cause more damage, a slap can hit just as hard and be deemed degrading. Being slapped by another man can also hurt your ego. I don’t want my point getting lost with semantics.
Totally get what you are saying. Just that many are saying punched when that is incorrect. Even all the silly memes that started last night

It was SO degrading. I give Chris Rock mad props for basically shaking it off (even though he was clearly stunned), making a quick joke about it and then finishing up without missing a beat.
Seriously, and it was a pretty hard slap! I mean honestly it looked like a punch to me at first!

I didn’t even attempt to watch because I feel bad for Chris. From what I am hearing sounds like he did a great job of being the bigger person and showing how you act with class. Meanwhile a lot of these comedians get cancelled for less and are always on eggshells when they have to speak or host at the Oscar because they get cancelled/fired so quickly. Look what happened to Kevin Hart.
Kudos to Chris! Sucks no one had his back.

If ANYONE else did that...let's say Jessica Chastain's SO marched up and slapped him, he would have been immediately escorted out.
All these Hollywood folk screaming privilege...well privilege is color blind as evidenced right here.
Also, do all of these self serving actors need to have a platform? Just take your trophy given to you by your peers who are the only people who saw the boring movie you were in and go home to your mansions and cry about inequity to your house servants.

I think Will was emasculated in his marriage when Jada cheated on him so openly and without any compassion and he wanted to look Macho. It’s unacceptable either way. I don’t see how you can even be a comedian anymore, it’s like you can’t make fun of anyone or anything anymore…

Since the academy is investigating now, I doubt it was a stunt. They would have come out by now to stop that.

I am not losing sleep over it either but I think I’m annoyed how no one did anything, escorted Will out and how people supported him. I really feel like Will was being a bully and took his frustration of his marriage on Chris and I’m annoyed the bully won that night. There is more security and action on an episode of housewives. Lol.
But whatever it’s done they’re all rich and will live happily ever after. We had our fun with the memes and commentary. Plus MC09 wrapped it up perfectly!!
