Vitamins & supplements to boost your family's immunity?

What vitamins and supplements do you take to boost your immunity against covid and flu virus?

And also what do you give to your kids?

Thank you!

Re: Vitamins & supplements to boost your family's immunity?

The one that changed my life was IP6/Inositol. Look it up on Amazon and read the reviews

I was sick all the time and since starting that I am never sick. I can't even tell you the last time I had a simple head cold.

I truly believe in this supplement.

I also Vitamin D for immunity.
I have to watch too much Vit C because I have kidney stones and too much C is no bueno for stones.
So whatever is in my multi vit is all I take on C.

I also take a bunch of other things that have pretty much stopped my migraines.

My DD only takes her multi with fluoride from the doctor. I don't give her anything else. She's never really sick though so I don't worry about supplementing her

I take a multi-vitamin and extra Vitamin D. My son takes a Flintstone multi-vitamin.

A friend of mine gave me turkey tail mushroom supplements when I was going thru chemo (immunity boost) but my oncologist didn't want me to take it bc he didn't know how it was packaged. Now that I'm done with chemo, I'm going to ask my GP if it's ok to take.

Multivitamins, Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), cod liver oil, probiotics, fermented food like kimchi kombucha, kefir, etc. During summer months astragalus extract (tincture). During winter months elderberry syrup (I make it, super easy), or fire cider. When they’re sick, Vit A, zinc, limit sugar and inflammatory and mucous-causing foods like dairy, and gluten. Vit D3 during winter months and when they’re sick only, be careful with taking Vit D throughout the whole year because with can become toxic to the body, except if it’s through the sun-if this is the case then u’re all good. If u can, see if u can find Vit D with K2, it’ll help the body absorb Vit D better.

I was gonna suggest the same. Taking zinc after eating is key otherwise it’ll make u feel terrible.

Yes! Medicinal mushrooms are a power house! Look into chaga mushroom, it’s excellent for immune boosting and it has lots of antioxidants.

We don’t take anything either. We are generally not sick other than the occasional cold.

Yup. After a full meal and I’m green every time. My body hates it.

I honestly would rather eat and drink anything needed. I also love the sun (in moderation of course) so I get much of my Vitamin D with that.

If you don’t need it (healthy diet, bloodwork normal when / if checking vitamin levels) then for sure

My vitD level is low a lot. It once was at an 8. So I take 5,000 iu a day for years to keep it at a normal level. My diet is mostly healthy but not healthy enough for me to skip a multi.

That is true.
I have low magnesium that leads to migraines so I take 500 mg a day and have cut my migraines by I'd say more than 95%.
I get one rarely now when in the past I'd be getting them frequently and much worse.

Absolutely, and this is the general consensus of most medical professionals. A deficiency is one thing- then of course you need something. But taking supplements for no reason is pointless and potentially harmful.
