I wouldn't call it spoiled. Most if not all women who have those higher paying jobs busted their asses to get to where they are. And not all high paying jobs can be done remotely.



This, and also the assumption that LIF is *full* of spoiled women is a bit rich, excuse the pun.



Real talk, this isn't about being spoiled or a b!tch, but I do think it highlight the privilege, entitlement and inequities in our society. Majority of those workers are minorities and may be forced to take a vaccine and don't have the luxury to choose to stay home.

Regardless of your stance on the vaccine, people should find that very unfair.


As minorities, aren’t they also more likely to have serious complications and die from COVID? With those lower paying jobs, they may also not have health insurance and/or may live paycheck to paycheck. Contracting COVID could also have devastating effects on them financially. Obviously, it depends on your perspective, but getting the vaccine and working in an environment where everyone is vaccinated is more likely to protect them than harm them. I understand people are still reluctant to get the vaccine and don’t want to be forced into it, but they’re going to have to make a tough decision and weigh the benefits and risks.



But it should be their CHOICE, they shouldn't be forced into it just because their job CAN'T be done remotely. These are REAL people who should have the same options as everyone else.

Employers have a right to mandate the vaccine or set different conditions on vaccinated vs. unvaccinated employees. Like any work rule or change in condition of employment, if someone doesn’t like it, he or she can look for a job elsewhere.

My company is hiring. And we don't require a vaccine. And we won't ask you to disclose anything voluntarily or not. And we have many open techincal positions.
So yes, please look for a job elsewhere. We are desperate!

Nell, does your company have employees working in person right now? If/when people are back together, how does your employer handle a positive case? You seem proud of the fact that your employer won’t ask for vaccination information at all, but it’s relevant information when someone at the workplace tests positive assuming that the company would want to contain the spread as well as limit who should test/quarantine. It’s more about CYA than anything else.

I'm confused, why do people think that the building employees (aka porters, cleaners, etc) are employed by Morgan Stanley? No building I have ever worked in as a company employed that staff on their own. The building itself did.

My whole office except two people is vaccinated and we have been back in person since last June. It is MY OPINION that the more people who go back, the more people who might want to take the vaccine. We all ran to get it, as to not be fearful of commuting, being in the city, etc.

My whole office except two people is vaccinated and we have been back in person since last June. It is MY OPINION that the more people who go back, the more people who might want to take the vaccine. We all ran to get it, as to not be fearful of commuting, being in the city, etc.

My last job did it until about 6 years ago as I know it was right before I was laid off. The supervisor got a job with the new cleaning service and a few others also got a job with them so we used to be able to see the same people even after they left the company. This was a large company.

I think it goes without saying that if Morgan Stanley is requiring their own employees and clients to be vaccinated they would also require any outside vendors, like cleaning staff, cafeteria workers, mailroom etc. to be vaccinated. Why on earth would you think otherwise? Perhaps you’ve never worked for an investment bank (I have) but employees are in the office at all hours and would clearly be interacting with the cleaning staff. Maybe you’ve only worked in a 9-5 job but a place like Morgan Stanley certainly is not that.

The job I just recently left does not ask vaccination status, does not require employees to be vaccinated and has plenty of employees that are visiting the office daily. If a case is discovered they close the office and everyone works remotely.

What's your point? Dh office has been back since last summer, doesn't ask vaccination status, doesn't require social distancing or masks and those who are unvaccinated are given the option to wfh if there is a positive case.

This is a completely false analogy. You can't spread pregnancy. No one can catch it from you. Just like you can't smoke in public - because you can/will harm others - it is not your choice when you could cause illness to others



So why are no other vaccines mandatory in the work place as well as the flu shot?



My employer required flu shots to his year and we had to get them at employee health or provide proof.

I work in a law firm. We are here all the time too, we do not require anyone to be vaccinated who comes into the office to clean, it is beyond the scope of being reasonable.

We didn't HAVE to require anyone to be clear, everyone did it on their own.

One month he was advised to work from home on 3 separate occasions due to 3 diff employees having COVID. They still do not ask or require vaccination and all employees are expected to work in the office on a daily basis.

Your whole point about your employer not seeking any information about vaccination status has absolutely no value when you’re all still working remotely. There’s no reason to ask about vaccination status in that situation.

The information is certainly relevant though for companies who have employers on site, potentially develop guidelines for those who aren’t vaccinated and have to deal with positive cases.

This has nothing to do with fascination with covid. I’m not sure why you need to be snarky. These are real considerations that companies are facing as more people go back to the office.

As I mentioned, we have several offices opened throughout the country already. This applies, company wide to all offices that are already opened and those planning reopenings soon.
Good? Does my point have value now?

Just out of curiosity, are they making employees wear masks or distance? Or is it just up to the individual?

No they stopped mask wearing and social distancing requirements months ago.
