Hello Fresh

I received a gift card for Christmas and ordered meals this week. Based on other post, some of you need a break so I wanted to share.

The recipes were delicious and easy. I made most of them in under 20 mins total (I picked the easier ones). Delivery and ordering was smooth. It’s a little pricey but they run coupons.

I still had to grocery shop for the kids and make them separate meals. They wouldn’t like the hello fresh stuff and it was too pricey to risk it. I also picked things I wanted to try/outside our normal routine.

It was a huge mental load off. Each meal is in a single bag and I didn’t have to run around the kitchen collecting ingredients. I know it sounds small but it actually felt a lot easier.

I don’t think I will use it every week but I wouldn’t hesitate to order again in the future to change it up.

Hope this helps might help some others get a little break from planning/prepping at least.

Re: Hello Fresh

I second Hello Fresh. I’ve been using it for years and use it quite often (it’s cheaper here I guess since it is a German company).

I still have to go to the grocery store, but not as often. I really like the quality of the meat they use. The produce is that same as a supermarket and I love the spice mixes and sauces they have.

We use order from them sometimes when they offer a good deal to do so. My dh and DD like to cook the meals together. They've always been delicious, and even our kids like them.

Re: Hello Fresh

I started ordering from them in March and I really love it. I tried blue apron and home chef but like hello fresh the best

Re: Hello Fresh

I have been using Hello Fresh for a few years now.

I don't get a delivery every week, usually once or twice a month.

The kids love it too and have their favorite meals that they love when I order.

My husband always says to save the recipe card and go buy the ingredients to make it again another time but I tell him that's not the point. I love the convenience of everything all ready to go in the bag, and not having to run around the grocery store for everything!

I have tried a couple of the meal delivery kits and Hello Fresh is my favorite - we get a delivery 2x a month, maybe more - it is nice to not think of something to make and to change it up from the usuals.

Re: Hello Fresh

I've been wanting to try one of these and it seems like Hello Fresh is a good one.
Are there good size portions? I'm feeding 4 people and a couple of those are pretty big eaters. LOL.

You can pick how many people. I felt the portions were good. Not really leftovers and prob a bigger portion of the starch than I would normally serve. You can always add your own side salad or something to simple increase if needed, but we felt satisfied with what it came with.

Re: Hello Fresh

You just missed a Groupon on Hello Fresh.

The portions are right size. You can pick 2 + weekly meals for 2 or 4 people. I'm a family of 3 and depending on the night, we eat a lil more or there is 1 lunch ready for the next day.

I compare the cost to some take out spots but with the sense that i cooked a meal.

I feel the prep is a little longer then they suggust but every meal we have tried has been great. I don't see it for weekly but every other week i think its a nice alternative.

To mentioned something else, regular meals are included. There are a few upgrades which typically cost 7 to 10 per serving per meal (these meals typical involve better seafood and steak choices)
