30th birthday
What did you do for yours? I want to do something but I'm not sure what. Also, I'll be 30 weeks pregnant....

Just out to dinner. I was also pregnant. My DH threw a 30+1 birthday party at our house for me the following year.

It was so long ago, I barely remember.
I was single at the time, and was in Chicago for a business trip. I extended my stay for the weekend, explored the city and flew home on Sunday to a b-day dinner with my family.

I had a 6 month old so we did a party at the house. It was the most convenient thing at the time, and still fun!

My son was 2 weeks old. We had the entire family over for take in Chinese food, a cake, and a balloon. It was honestly perfect. It was low key, relaxed, and just what I needed at that point. I had an exceptionally difficult pregnancy where I lost my eye sight and had preeclampsia, with months of bedrest. It was just nice to feel on the way to normal again.

30th birthday
My birthday is in July so DH and I dropped my 2 kids off at my parents house, went down to Port Jeff for Danford's happy hour, went to a few different places for drinks then went to dinner. We were home by 9 or 10.

We spent a long weekend at an adults only place in Cancun and my husband had a surprise party for me.

30th DH (fiancé at the time) had a bunch of friends waiting for me at a bar after we finished dinner. He first surprised me and had a one of my close friends fly in from Chicago to surprise me.
For 40th we just had a party at the house with a lot of friends. Hired a caterer and bartender and kids slept out for the night. Set up a beer pong and flip cup table and had fun old school drinking games.
