First trip to Disney Itinerary - Open to opinions
Hi,
As of this weekend we can begin making our ADR's and I'm not 100% on our choices.
See below and comment away :)
To add: We are going with our 6 year old DD and have park hopper tickets and the dining plan.
Day 1 - Afternoon arrival, spend time at hotel pool and go to Disney Springs for dinner at Rainforest Cafe and dessert at Sprinkles.
Day 2 - Magic Kingdom, breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table not sure where to have dinner?, fireworks.
Day 3- Magic Kingdom, Dinner?
Day 4 Epcot, dinner at Via Napoli, fireworks.
Day 5 Hollywood Studios, Sci Fi Drive in for dinner. Fantasmic show.
My daughter is not super into characters so thinking that our character breakfast will be enough for her.
Any help is appreciated!

While in the Magic Kingdom, I would suggest eating at Be Our Guest. We had lunch there and it was very casual and food was good. I think dinner food might have more of a French flair. But it is so cool being in Beast's Castle.
ETA- We had lunch at Sci-Fi Diner. It is really like being in a drive in. Downside is it is very dark and you can't have conversation with your party. You sit behind each other and it is really loud because of the movie. Didn't hate it, but my friends ate at 50's Prime Time Cafe and they said it was sooooo much fun and the food was delish.

Agree on both points! Sci-fi drive in was still cool, though. And they had this dessert called the Candy Bar which was flipping amazing. I definitely wouldn't go to Be Our Guest for dinner- if you have a Disney dining plan it's double points... or something to that effect. And like pp mentioned the food has more French options which probably won't fly with kids and picky eaters- like escargot. But lunch was great! And DD loved being in the Beast's castle.
We ate at Via Napoli and OMG it was SO good. You're going to love it.

Def do Be Our Guest lunch - great value on the dining plan. As for dinner at MK, some good table service restaurants are Liberty Tree Tavern & Skipper Canteen & quick service restaurant is Columbia Harbor House.

I was really, really impressed by skipper canteen. Though it’s not too much of a theme, I found the food delicious (and the kids loved the chicken).
On the other hand, I thought the dinner at Be Our Guest was bad to barely edible on three separate occasions (dinner). I tried my kids’ food when they could barely eat it and was surprised by how bad it actually was. The Cinderella castle lunch wasn’t great, but wasn’t as bad as BOG. It is pretty though.

Yep I agree. You should eat in the Castle at least once.

We leave in a week, but I've been abt 4 times in the last 8 years. While this is the first trip with a child, I feel like I know a decent amount of general info. When it comes to the kid specific things, it's all new to me, though!
Day 1 - What time do you land on Day 1 and what resort are you staying at? Depending on the time you land, you may not have pool time before dinner at the springs. The magical express can take awhile. Also, we originally had our reservation at rainforest but after talking to alot of people, we got rid of the reservation.. it's a cool atmosphere but the food is just OK from what I've heard. We switched to Enzo's Hideaway. Also heard T-Rex is awesome.. Maybe you can get a reservation for bippidi boppidi in the springs that night too since you'll be doing breakfast with the princesses the next morning.
Day 2 - Do you want a quick service dinner? If so, look into the ones that have mobile ordering available- it'll make your life alot easier. We're planning on either Pinocchio’s Village Haus (Fantasyland), Cosmic Ray’s (Tomorrowland), or Casey’s Corner (Main St)
Day 3- Magic Kingdom-Dinner
I would go with Crystal Palace, or try for
"Be our Guest"... You're already doing CRT, but you could also look into 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Probably not worth it since you'll already see cinderella and prince charming, though.
Day 4 Epcot, dinner at Via Napoli, fireworks.
If you're not completely stuck on Via Napoli, we are fans of Teppan Edo in Japan. It's hibachi so it's got a little bit of entertainment thrown in for the kids too. For Quick Service, look into the Electric Umbrella because of the mobile ordering, or the quick service place in Germany is good.
Day 5 Hollywood Studios, Sci Fi Drive in for dinner. Fantasmic show.
Personally not a fan of the Sci Fi Drive in but that's just me... Also had family who said their kids were bored of it because the screens play old school movies. You know your child, though. If she's able to sit still for awhile and won't be mad that it's not a regular cartoon, then keep the reservation :)
Personal recommendation since you're planning on Fantasmic: I would switch from Sci Fi to Hollywood and Vine, and try to get an early dining reservation BEFORE 5pm to qualify for the VIP Fantasmic dining package. We got a 430pm and it comes with preferred seating for Fantasmic. You also get to seat yourself earlier and you don't need to stand on a long line to get in. If you search it up on the website, you will see the VIP pacakge. It doesn't cost extra to get it. Just have to get an earlier reservation

you can do Ohana at the poly on one of your MK nights
- you have park hoppers but your itinerary is one park a day... I think you can easily do epcot as half day and HS half day too.

If you have park hoppers, park hop! You are paying a pretty penny for the ability to hop. I would do Hollywood Studios in the morning, then take the boat over to Epcot for the evening!
On Day 1, I would do a quick service dinner since you will be doing a sit down breakfast. Sit down meals take forever in Disney in our experience (we go all the time)
Day 2 I would do Animal Kingdom in the morning, then hop to MK in the afternoon. Animal Kingdom is a fun park, and your child would probably enjoy it.

Great suggestions. Thank you all so much for taking the time! I didn't realize that Be Our Guest was quick service for lunch so we will definitely book that.
To answer your questions: We land at 12:30 pm and are staying at Art of Animation.
Good points about the Sci Fi Drive In...maybe it isn't for us after all. I loved the idea of the 50's prime time cafe but not so much the menu.
We looked in to Hollywood and Vine but weren't impressed with the buffet. Have you eaten at Mama Melrose?
We are also looking for quick service at Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

I didn't care for the menu at 50s either so I booked Sci Fi...seems fun and a cool experience for the kids!
I haven't eaten at Mama Melrose..I know people that love it and those that don't.
Quick service at Epcot that is good is Tangierine Café and at HS you have Backlot Express and ABC Commissary.

I haven’t read through all the other responses but here is my feedback:
Day 1: rainforest cafe is meh food at best. Raglan road is yummier for sit down, or we like earl of sandwich for quick/cheap meal. I’d only do rainforest cafe if yiu think the theming is a must for you.
Day 2: I wouldn’t spend precious morning (aka shorter lines) time on a sit down breakfast. I’d grab a muffin at the hotel and I’d change Cinderella’s Royal table to lunch or dinner. You can then do a quick serve (we love Columbia Harbour House or even just going to the waffle place) for the other meal.
Day 3: I hear great things about Skipper Canteen!
Day 4: sounds great!
Day 5: just make sure yiur child isn’t easily scared. We are not booking sci fi for our 3 and 6 year olds because they find everything to be scary, and I’ve heard from several people that their kids were terrified of the movie clips. They are intended to be cheesy, and a lot of kids can handle that. But a lot can’t either.
