High back booster seat (car)?
Happy New Year! Please recommend your high back booster seat that converts to a backless booster.

We have this in both cars. Love it.
Its not too wide so it's easy to buckle the seat belt around it.

I’m still using the 5 point harness. My oldest is 8.5 in it. He is ready for a booster and will ride in hubby’s car without. But I like the harnesses. I have 2 britax frontiers and one of those slim brand ones. I will likely use them until the end...

Omg thank you for that! I still have my 5 1/2 year old in a five point harness and none of her friends are. I felt like the only one.

This looks like a great seat, not expensive & got good reviews for safety... what age would this be appropriate for? If I get this for my son, he’d start using it around the time he turns 6... he’s average size ... would this seat be good for a 6 year old? He’s currently in a Graco 4ever with the five point harness, but that seat would get passed down to his brother when he outgrows his infant seat.

Yep it's perfect for that age. DD went into it around 6 as well.
It was perfect for her and she's on the smaller side for her age. Average to small I'd say.
It has adjustable height as well so it grows with them.
She's now 8.5 and still in it with the high back.
We loved it so much we bought a 2nd for my husband's truck.
We had originally converted her Graco Nautilus from a 5 pt harness to a high back booster and we HATED it as a high back booster. It was such a wide seat that she couldn't buckle the seat belt around it and even DH and I had the hardest time getting the seat belt buckled.
We dumped that as soon as we got this seat and never looked back!

My Son has frontier with a 5 point harness and we just ordered him a Graco Affix. (high back to backless, no harness) to go in the other car. He is in first grade.

High back booster seat (car)?
my 5 year AND 8 year olds are both in the Graco Nautilus. My 5 year old uses it with the harness still (he just turned 5 in december) and then my 8 year old uses it with the seat belt and the high back still on. its wide at the bottom, but he seems to do fine buckling the seat belt around it... but, then again, he thinks hes on American Ninja Warrior, so.... theres that.... LOL
i'll probably take the back off for the 8 year old soon- but hes comfortable with the back, and we do a ton of road trips because our family is all spread out, so he still falls asleep the car a lot.

I seat belt my high back booster in when she's not in it. You are supposed to do that to prevent it from flying in an accident.

I seat belt my high back booster in when she's not in it. You are supposed to do that to prevent it from flying in an accident.
That makes sense, it can totally work if you have a small car or one or 2 kids, or remembered better then myself  . With 4 kids, 2 of which are in the boosters, and a mini van, it would be a lot harder, forget the fact that I’d forget my head if it wasn’t attached at this point

We have the Nautilus, too, and I'm not a fan of the base. It's tough to buckle the seatbelt into it and we have it in 2 SUVs. If I had to do it again, I'd get something with a more narrow base.

Ditto here. 3 kids and with all the in & out, everything just needs to be safest without additional steps. That’s why I stuck with high back 5 point harness. They all are permanently seatbelted in & the oldest is 8.5 and still fits. If he fits another year, we will get a low back booster that just latches in. His younger sister is super tall, so in a year, I will only have one car seat!!!!

Yeah i hear you ladies- I only have one kid and I have a 4 door sedan so for me it's easy.
If i had any more kids or a bigger car/truck etc the seats would all be flying loose back there!
