Looking for therapist for wife - Grief

Hello -

My wife just gave birth to our daughter who was stillborn at 23 weeks. Prior to that, she had two miscarriages. Needless to say, it has been very very hard. We don't have any children.

I really think it is time for her to get some professional help with all of this since. She is the strongest woman I have ever met, but I am worried for her.

I am looking for recommendations for any therapist out in Suffolk.. We live out east.

I just don't want her to make an appointment with any random person...I am looking for somebody who comes recommended from somebody who has been in similar shoes.

I'm very sorry for your losses. Her gynecologist should be able to provide you with local recommendations.

I'm so sorry. Hopefully someone can chime in with a recommendation. You might get more responses on the main board if you ask for a grief counselor.

I am so incredibly sorry for your losses. After my second miscarriage I ended up starting a small private group on Facebook for others in the same boat. It really helped me to talk to others who had been through similarly, especially when I had my third loss. It has been 5 years now and most people in the group have gone on to have successful pregnancies now and it’s less active but still a good support network... or I am sure there are many other similar groups out there. I am so very sorry. I was going to say the dr should definitely have recommendations. When we were going through IF hell, my mind took me to some dark thought at times especially after our miscarriage and D&C and my dr gave me recommendations. I almost started seeing a therapist but we started our IVf cycle at that time and I was so busy with all the shots, appts, work, etc. I hope your wife finds someone to talk to.
