What are your 5 year old girls asking for this Christmas?
Any ideas? My DD is in kindergarten and turning 5 and with her birthday and Christmas back to back, I'm trying to think of some ideas to make it special for her. I would like to get her some things to play with but I also don't want too much 'stuff.' I'd be open to experiences as well. Thank you!!

We are doing a few different experiences this year (as gifts from us and gifts from other family members). We are doing the Harlem Globetrotters and Disney on Ice,both at Nassau coliseum along with the Rockettes. For gifts, so far I have wrapples, rainbocorn, and some board games. They asked for Greedy granny and I picked up perfection and connect 4. My daughter loves crafts so also somecraft kits (beads, color your own squishy, etc)

Re: What are your 5 year old girls asking for this Christmas?
She really wanted the cry babies doll, and she asked for things for her American girl doll. So I’m giving her a mini book bag from justice with a gift card to American girl, since we are going to the store for a fun girls day. I’m also giving her tickets to frozen on ice. My kids gift each other an experience, so they have decided on movie tickets for her.
I’m really trying hard to do more experiences this year. And I’m also trying not to spend a fortune on junk since we are doing universal for the holidays.

My girls are almost 4 and 6. I can't get any ideas from them beyond whatever commercial is on at the moment. I got them each a Polly Pocket, some flip sequin stuff from Justice, clip on doll high chairs, twisty pets, and LOL underwraps. The youngest is getting a happy places car set for her birthday.

Re: What are your 5 year old girls asking for this Christmas?
5 is a great age for toys. You will have plenty of time for experiences... but toys really kind of top off soon!
We do ONE big toy to allow for a nice surprise from Santa. All the little stuff ends up from family and friends. We actually don’t gift give from ourselves (parents) to our kids! They ask Santa for stuff. Also, only kids get gifts.
Last year we did an ice cream cart (DD was almost 6). It was adorable and got a lot of play. We have done playhouse, dollhouse, train table, BOX of smaller toys etc. the kids all do remember that it’s a special gift from Santa.
As my oldest is figuring it out at 8 (he put together the tooth fairy first... let’s face it, we make this easy by overdoing these magical things)... he realizes the work we did in getting these gifts and pretending. He also keeps it a secret for the younger ones. It’s the ultimate gift to have that moment where they recognize your efforts!

I have a 6 year old that for about a year now, has only been interested in LOL’s. So that ends up being the majority of her gifts. So this year for instance, we got her the LOL dollhouse.

!
I agree with this 100%
I have to be honest, at 5, my DD would be sorely disappointed with "experiences" on Christmas morning. Saying - yeah guess what we are going to the MUSEUM this month to her at 5 would be akin to my DH buying me an iron for Valentine's Day.
Kids at 5 really want toys, wrapped presents under the tree, things to open, things to play with right away. At that age, she liked doing experience things, sure, but not as a gift.
I know it sucks to have SO MANY toys, trust me I do. We have no basement or any storage at all. We would usually go through her toys around this time of year and donate/get rid of whatever she is not playing with to make room for the new stuff for Christmas
