Grammar Police- please come in!

So I am a stickler for grammar and proper usage.
I'd like to think I'm pretty good with grammar and usage as well, but there are always things I am not 100% sure on.

But I always thought I had a handle on the advice vs. advise thing.

I need some ADVICE.
Please ADVISE on this situation.

Right?

But I was typing an email before and the auto grammar check in Outlook flagged this as wrong:

Brittany can best advise on this as she runs that line of business.

It underlined the "advise" in blue and when I right clicked it suggested "advice" instead.

Am I going nuts?
Or is Outlook just another victim of the wrong use of advice vs. advise?

Re: Grammar Police- please come in!

Outlook is wrong.
Advise is a verb, advice is a noun.

One advises to give advice.

Advice is the noun and advise is the verb.

You are right. I'd never seen those used incorrectly until this site though. It used to be very common on here and made me nuts but these days nothing happens very frequently.

Re: Grammar Police- please come in!

Outlook is wrong. My guess is that normally “best” is paired with “advice,” which is why it was flagged.

I agree. I am constantly ignoring Outlooks suggestions. Some are completely ridiculous.
