Help me dress for an amusement park outing this Summer
What do you wear to the amusement park over the Summer? I want to be comfortable but still look nice. I haven't been to one in years.

I am not a fan of shorts on me, but if you have a nice pair of shorts I'd go that route.
I usually wear causal dresses in the summer on weekends/for outings, but if you plan to go on rides, you might want to be more covered than a dress.

I always wear a skort to an amusement park--check out the cute Design Lab ones at Lord & Taylor!--or a sporty Under Armour one--because I hate shorts and want to look cute, but sometimes on rides you have to straddle something.

I wouldn't wear flip flops in case there is a ride where your feet are out. I'd wear sandals that have some kind of strap

Thanks for the ideas. I haven't worn shorts in years and don't like the way I look in cropped pants so I've been trying to figure out what I can wear.

I hate shorts personally. They don't ever fit me right. I would literally have to start now and go try on 400 pairs of shorts to find one pair I could wear this summer. too stressful
You can get away with a cute sundress, but if you plan to go on a lot of rides, maybe throw a pair of bike shorts under it?

Then I would wear gym-type capris with a tank and sneakers.

LOL. I have some casual dresses from target. One is like a long t shirt/t shirt dress.
Super easy for summer and I don't have to worry about being so uncomfy in shorts.
I always wished shorts would fit my body.
It's very limiting.

I’m a fan of “skorts “. They are just as cool/comfortable as shorts but MUCH more flattering. Costco has a bunch of them and I get tons of compliments every time I wear them.
I couldn’t find them in Costco’s website but Amazon has them. They are 1/2 the price at Costco.

So the link doesn't work for me but I am curious...do you find they are short?
I looked at a few skorts as an alternative to shorts but to me they look like very short skirts. And i am not comfortable with my thighs so I don't like them to be that exposed

So I wanted to come back to this thread because I finally found a pair of shorts that are comfy and fit me and I figured they would be perfect for an amusement park.
These are from Target. I ended up getting them in 2 colors. They are elastic waist, drawstring, nice and loose, flowy and cool and comfy.
I can't wear shorts...these I can.
Just a thought.
And I got this tank to go with the gray ones...it looks great together:

I am not a fan of shorts either. How about leggings with a long sleeveless shirt or tank top? I think flips flops are fine.
I wouldn't worry so much about looking cute. Comfortable and cool is more important. It's summer at an amusement park = sweaty and dirty. Nothing white.
