I see the post about psychic mediums on here, and based on what I found out a few days ago I feel I have to share...
I want to start off by saying that I was OBSESSED with her, and about 2.5-3 years ago I paid alot of money for fantastic seats at the Theatre @ Westbury to see her. While she didn't read me, I had chills when she read this woman who had lost her child in a boating accident many years ago. It was such a vivid description of what had happened and it truly took my breath away...
Well, I was out at dinner with my friend earlier this week & the restaurant had said they would be doing a psychic night soon... This started a conversation about psychics and group readings that we have been to, she began to tell me about how she saw Teresa at a psychic night out in Hicksville over 10 years ago (before she was even on TLC) and that she read this woman who lost a child in a boating accident. I was like "WAIT WHAT???" and it turns out it was the exact same story. She is a fraud, and that woman who goes with her place to place and acts that whole thing out is a terrible human being. I am furious and just wanted to share that with anyone who thought she was the real deal.

I am skeptical about this stuff in general. Did she name you by name? However she saved you was it very specific with names location etc.
I am not convinced that these people don't look someone up and find out all the information they can about someone before a reading. Of course I am talking about private readings. If I went to a a show and median had no idea my name and gave me specifics no way they would be able to know I would be more of a believer

I saw her in a group reading 3 months before my wedding. My name, info, anything about me was not given to her. The host was a friends MIL
She read most of the room. She got to me and said that she had a male, etc etc etc going to a big celebration in 3 months from now. I purposely didn’t wear my E ring. I said I was getting married. She said something about what I was doing in my ceremony and how I was honoring him. Like EXACTLY how.
I do think she’s got something. But I don’t know if she’s just gotten too full of herself and half of her stuff is an act to get even more $$. But when i saw her , right before she had her show, she was good.
The lady Rita I posted about in January ... I went there on a whim. With my friend/boss. She made the appt. this woman knew my first name and that’s it. She knew nothing of who I was, what I wanted to hear, etc. she was absolutely FANTASTIC. I have never left a reading the way I left that one. Actual names, everything she said meant something. There wasn’t a moment I didn’t know what she was talking about. SHE is absolutely amazing. I’ve been to quite a few. One I went all the way to Connecticut w my cousin for. Sucked. Expensive and sucked. I was shocked with how well my reading w Rita went !

hmm interesting. I think the only way I would be convinced if someone made an appointment for me not give them my real name till I got there. And then when they were reading I would love to just sit their silently and let them read me without me having to tell them yes that's right or yes I am doing XYZ that would be the only real way I think I would truly believe

i am a skeptic, but i'm always curious.
a million years ago, i went to a small-time medium in nyc. a dominican lady.
she knew i was pregnant. i hadn't confirmed with a test, but i had a feeling. she told me that there were three people living in my home. i kept correcting her. she was adamant that there was a man living with me... i had a son.
so, i believe some people do have a gift... but NOT all

Same. It’s all in how they talk to you. There’s a lot of gesturing, etc. I don’t believe it for a second

i saw rita awhile back at runyan's and couldn't believe how amazing she was. She made it clearer for me that she's the real deal. the reservation was made under my friend's name and it's all cash so no info was given from credit cards or anything. she wrote a bunch on a piece of paper for me to keep and she got alot of specific dates. She was the only medium I have ever seen who really didn't ask me a thing. I feel like I barely said a word. I just kept nodding because i was speechless.
I am sure teresa had a gift of some sort, but to have an "act" with this other woman is so disgusting. I can't believe someone would market the death of a child in that way. And that's even if she lost a child in the first place. Who knows if the story was completely made up..

Not divulging too much of my private info, but basically my moms cousin went for a private reading, this was before the show. I had just been through a bad time, fiance left me 11 days before our wedding. My cousin said to me that she wasn't even thinking about me, she was worried about her own life and her own kids. Half her reading ended up being about me. She knew my name, my fiances initials, that I had a bridal shower and the reason why it ended. There was no way in h@ll she could have known. She also knew my relation to my second cousin. I heard the tape of the session after and the insight she had was a huge reason why I was finally able to go on. I never met the woman, but I will always be grateful.

I agree. And they are a waste of money, too.
One of my best friends was on the pilot episode. They said stuff that they thought no one would know, but I also think my friends is leaving details out.

I agree. If you watch a YouTube showing the cold reading strategy it looks exactly like what she does. I think it’s terrible that she takes advantage of people that are vulnerable and grieving. I think if you are willing to believe it can seem real, but if your are not a believer it wouldn’t work because you’d be on guard and not interpreting the vague statements to make them fit. Just my opinion.

I'm a big skeptic. I've had two readings in my life and they didn't wow me. I didn't try to over analyze what they said and didn't give much feedback. Seemed mainly like they were fishing for me to give them the answers. I wasn't impressed, seemed like a waste of money.
eta- I would be interested to see a "good" psychic but they would have to give me very specific information without me having to interpret vague, generalized bits of information.

I have never seen here, but I do have a person who I have seen a few times. He is amazing. I had a private reading with him on Long Island a few years ago. I did not give him my real name, nor my mothers when we met with him. When we sat down, he said "Who is Rose?" My mother said that is me. He said, that is different then what you told me and she said, well, you need to earn your fee."
LOL.. He was like Okay then...and so the reading began. It was amazing. We spoke very little except to confirm information. He was spot on and is very gifted.
Fast forward to this past Feb and I held a group reading in my apt and he was just as amazing. To the point where, there was supposed to be another person there (he didn't know that) and said "Where is Susan? Why didn't she come?" There was NO flipping way that he knew anything of the sort. NONE.
I will see him again soon. He is amazing. He is one of the best I have ever seen.

Two things. One the LI mediums show I saw her read 3 families that I knew, who had lost love ones. These were people that passed away prior to her show. And what she said was accurate as far as I know.
Second I saw Glen Dove twice. The first time I had only give my first name. When I got to the office they had my name wrong! Think Julie when my name was Julia. Most of his reading he does with his eyes closed and he rubs his fingers on a piece of paper on a clip board. So he wasn’t cold readings me.
And finally I could have give him my social security number and STILL what investigating could he have done to know info NO ONE ELSE in real life knew.

For me, I always “feel” my loved ones. I see signs a lot and always wonder if I’m making it up or if what I’m seeing or feeling is actually real. So going to a medium kind of tells me that I’m not making it all up. When they tell me specific people are with me and when a, b or c happened the other day, it was them, etc. feels good to me. There are certain people I miss all the time and wish i could speak to just once more or wonder if they know what’s going on with me ... a good medium helps answer those questions.

Ultimately to me, I think it is confirmation of some type of life after death, for loved ones and ourselves. That’s a pretty powerful draw.
I personally had an experience after my grandmother died that confirmed to me that her spirit was still around me. I’m not into psychics, but I do get why a lot of people are.

I’m with you in this. Yes there are things i want to know about loved ones that have passed. But I would never pay someone to “talk” to them for me.

I kind of can understand that. However, I don’t think I could do something like that. I haven’t lost a parent, but I’ve lost a very special grandma and uncle. I just never thought to go to a medium. I mean they are already gone. What more could you do? I think that’s where I’m coming from.

I kinda feel like they are all con-artists, but then again if they are giving you some comfort... it's not really a scam. I went to one that so many people I know raved about. I felt like it was real. I even told my sister to go to her because I thought she would like it. She actually cried because she believed it so much. I asked her what the woman told her and it was almost identical to what she told me. I didn't tell my sister because she found it comforting and I didn't want to ruin that.
I just don't believe in it anymore.
