I only have taken uber 4 times for work all in one trip (to the airport, to the hotel back to the airport back home) and I did tip each time but on the card. Mainly because its a company card and they paid for it but if it was for personal I would have tip but through the app.

Yes, I do. You can tip right through the app now.After your trip is completed, it will ask you if you want to add a tip

I haven't taken an Uber recently - not since they added tipping to the app.
So in the past I never tipped. I don't carry cash. The whole point of Uber was a cashless transaction. I liked them for the convienence of that alone. Even cabs in nyc I use a card and tip on there. Never any cash.
Now that they have the option of adding a tip to the app I will.
I just rarely ever have cash.

Until recently there was no option to tip in the app. Now there is.
That's why I never tipped in the past, but I will now
