I have 2 artificial trees. One has clear one has multi colored lights. I alternate depending on mood. My next tree will be LED and I want to have the option to change the colors all the time.

Clear cause my dh hates colored lights. But growing up i always had colored and I just loved them. I just love that glow you get from them. Brings me back to wonderful memories.

We do both. There is no theme to our tree. I never grew up with a theme. Are tree was always full of tons of ornaments. My dad loves them

I don't care enough about decorating to even attempt to have any kind of theme Chat Icon

So last year I got disgusted and aggravated with all our ornaments and mish mosh (even though it kind of had a color scheme going on) and was just sick of and bored of our tree. So I just went to Michael's when they had a sale and Target and bought a bunch of ornaments and decorations in a silver/blingy kind of theme.
I redid the tree in that and it was so much easier than pulling all the old crap out of the attic. Plus it looked SOOO pretty at night.

I love color. DH likes the clear. Luckily we have two trees so we can do one of each.

Upstairs tree: clear and multi. The tree came with clear. I add some multi and some more clear (the twinkling ones).

Downstairs tree: multi - I just think it looks better in the room

Sunroom tree: clear - The tree came with clear lights. I add more twinkling clear lights.

Clear. My decorations are all red, green, gold and silver and sparkly.

I never knew anyone with more than one tree until LIF. You're all so fancy, I love it!

Thank you! I was going for a winter wonderland, silver bells, type theme.
I was so happy with how it came out and how it looks lit up in the room at night.
Plus so easy because I bought a bunch of multi-packs of assorted silver and glitter ornaments and some blingy garland like strands and BAM, done!

Same. I say that to DH all the time. SO much work to just have to rip it all down a month later.

Last year I took mine down on actual Christmas night (late) because I couldn’t deal with having it hanging over my head. I just wanted it done. Taking down the tree sucks!!

Re: Clear lights or colored lights on your Christmas tree -POLL

We have two trees. One is in the front living room and it's my "fancy" tree. It has white lights, cream and burlap ribbon, and all glass ornaments. The other tree is in the family room and it has colored lights and all of our fun family ornaments, ornaments the kids make, and my and DH's ornaments from growing up.

ETA: It IS a total PITA to put up 2 trees. We do it over a span of a few weekends. I put up the bigger fancy tree on my own usually the weekend before Thanksgiving. Then DH and I usually assemble the family room tree one night during the week after Thanksgiving, and then we decorate that tree with the kids that weekend at some point. It's exhausting but I love it!
