Toddler wakes up when Mommy goes to work
My wife is SUPER quiet when getting ready for work, but my son somehow wakes up when he hears her walk down the stairs which are next to his bedroom.
He's been sleeping without white noise for a year now, but we tried it again the past few nights and he didn't hear my wife and wake up.
Does anyone know anything that turns on at the time you set it to? For instance, is there a products that would turn ON white noise at 6am? There's no sense in playing it all night (also a waste of electricity and money) when we only need it to go on right before before my wife wakes up until the time he wakes up.
Or, does anyone have any suggestions?

You can get an outlet timer from Amazon, Walmart, etc.
I use one for lamps once in a while. You can set the on and off timer, and whatever you plug into it (fan, white noise generator that starts once it has power, etc) will start when you set it, and turn off after you don't need it anymore.

How much could it cost to run it all night? I think turning it on at that time will trigger him to wake up. I find that if my machine conks out in the middle of the night my baby stirs because they can suddenly hear it or not. To me the cost of the electricity is a drop in the bucket vs keeping my baby asleep

LOL I agree.
I would have paid a million dollars if it meant my baby would have slept through the night.
I would have worked the rest of my life to pay it off
Plus I imagine a sound machine only uses pennies a day in electricity. It's not producing heat or light or anything like that.

True. I think the cost of a timer (or a white noise machine with a timer) would outweigh years of running an existing white noise machine all night every night.
When I had a window AC unit, I had to switch it to always keeping the fan running. I tried to save some money by using the setting where it only turns the fan on when it needs to cool the room down again. I found myself waking up whenever the fan kicked on.

Toddler wakes up when Mommy goes to work
My boys have soothers attached to their beds that have white noise and they come with remotes. She could open his door in the morning, press the remote, and leave.
