Yes but sometimes I forget if I'm un- loading groceries into the house... one of the times I forgot, someone stole a GPS out of my car.

Yes, no matter where you live, you should lock your doors. I see the same thing posted in our community groups all the time. People leaving wallets, ipads, etc. in unlocked cars! Then they are stolen!

Absolutely, always. I don't really keep anything of value in my car, but our garage door can be opened with the remotes/Homelink system - and that's usually how we go in and out of the house. If you can get in my car, you can get in my house. DH used to be more lax about it, but I would always check his car too and then mention it to him, so I guess he got tired of hearing me bring it up, so he's much better about it now.
So you don't lock the door from your house to garage? HUGE mistake!

We store our cars in the locked garage so I do not lock my car when it is in there. I figure if a thief is going to bust into my garage, a locked car door isn't going to stop them.
With that said, I always lock my car when I am out at the store, work, etc. I lock it when I get gas and also if I leave it in the driveway.

This actually just happened to me last week
My husband put his gym bag in our car for the next day and forgot to lock car which was in our driveway.
Someone "broke" in but stole nothing because there was nothing to steal!

I usually don't but I also don't leave anything in my car. So I rather they rummage through and find nothing instead of breaking my windows and find nothing.

Always lock my car. Always lock everything.
I even lock my car when returning my shopping cart in parking lots. You never know some maniac can jump in my car when I'm not looking.

Like someone else said...eyes everywhere in Queens! and houses are almost stacked together, so someone is guaranteed always watching! In the burbs...easier to walk up and snatch stuff without anyone noticing!

Sometimes when I am walking to my car and can't find it, I will use my clicker to unlock the locks because it sounds a quick horn when I do that and I can then hear where my car is, if it's close.
So I'll do that, locate the car, then quickly lock the locks again with the clicker so it's not open until I get there.
Like some maniac is going to jump in my unlocked car for the 2 seconds it's unlocked while I walk to it.
But I'm nuts like that! LOL

You can click using the lock button, not the unlock button. That's what I do. It still makes the sound/lights flash.
