Hospitals that allow babies to go to the nursery at night?
Delivered at manhasset
4 years ago they didn't mention it so I kept my daughter the entire time
2.5 years ago I had a very traumatic and difficult delivery - had to be kept in the delivery room for an additional 6 hours after labor due to blood pressure and bleeding issues. When I finally was allowed to be moved to a floor around 2am they brought my daughter for me to see for the first time and li send her back to them about 15 minutes later since I was still completely out of it.
7 months ago I had my son and since I now knew the nursery would take them at night I requested that he spend the night there so I could sleep - thry gave me some push back since I was nursing and said that they prefer not to have nursing babies in there and that if he woke up they would

Bring him to me I told them no that I was fine with them giving him a bottle over night. The nurse told me the importance of this bonding and I let her know that I allowed my 2nd daughter to get bottles at night in the hospital and then successfully nursed her for 16 months and that it was more important for me to also recover the 2 nights in the hospital than my son having at most 4 bottles during his stay. Needless to say she said alright and took him. I did request he be brought back by 6am - the second night I had to go out to the nursery to request him be brought around 7am since they were busy admitting a few babies so they didn't automatically bring him

I know multiple people that have given birth at Northwell Manhasset in the last few months and they have all been able to send their babies to the nursery at night. My c-section is scheduled in 19 days and I definitely plan on sending the baby to the nursery the first night.
I think like others have said if you ask or insist, any hospital will take the baby at night.
If you get push back, you need to insist, be assertive and make a stink if you have to.
Get your doctor involved if you need to.
Advocate for yourself.
At the end of the day the hospital is a business and YOU are the customer so you should be getting what you want.

Yes, they really were good about it. I remember telling them to bring her back when she needed to eat and them gently suggesting they feed her so I could sleep.

I just gave birth at Huntington less than 2 weeks ago. They definitely encourage rooming in now, but will take the baby to nursery upon request. The night nurses were very nice and told me if i wanted to send her to just ask. I sent her the first night and they brought her back for feedings. The second night, I kept her in for some of the night, but I wasn't getting much sleep. So, when they came to take her for vitals, I asked if they would take her for a few hours and bring her back for her next feeding. No one gave me hard time. I lucked out with my own room, so I was actually able to sleep in between feedings, which was nice.
