Whats a last minute gift I can get or make my mother in law from my 1 year old?

something with her picture or handprint on it? Michael's sells flower pots and paint... have her dip her hand in the paint and put her handprints on a flower pot. i had my DS do that for my mom and MIL one year.
or they sell plain tote bags and fabric paint- same idea...
i think yo could also find travel mugs or water bottles that you can put a picture of your DC in...

oh and for your other question. my ILs live 4.5 hours away.... so that means they would have to stay at my house for 2-3 nights if we wanted to see them. so....nope...not seeing my MIL on mothers day lol

Re: Mothers Day

Flowers or a potted plant
A nice frame with a picture of your LO
Gift card for a store they enjoy or a nail place if they are into that.

And yes, I spend every mother's day with my mom- my MIL is deceased but if she were alive we'd have her have here as well- I host each year

Mothers Day

I generally do not get my MIL anything from DS other than a card. And if my DH wants to get something then he has to take care of it.

We take care of our own families so that way not everything falls on me.

As for do we see her - I have been away the last 2 Mother's Day. One I was on a work trip overseas and last year I took DS to my Parents in FL.

This year I decided Sunday will be DS, DH and me. I told DH if he wants to do something with his mom to plan it another day.

Re: Mothers Day

The kids give cards & flowers. We are seeing my mom in the morning & MIL in the evening on Saturday & I am getting Sunday all to myself.

Your dc is 1, if you want to spend actual mother's day with your kids this year & future years, set the precedent NOW that she can have the day before or another day. My mil is a a drama queen as well so I get it.

Maybe a hanging plant? Or I like the Yankee Candle idea.

And Yes to your other question. We do brunch with MIL and then my aunt hosts a BBQ.

Flowers and a card is fine in my opinion. This year I got nice frames and framed DD's school picture in it. Unfortunately, my il's are staying with us this weekend so I will be spending my mother's day with her.

Re: Mothers Day

A potted plant is super easy. Or if you want something home made - have your child paint on a piece of construction paper and write "Happy Mother's Day" on it in marker. I did that for my ds1 1st valentines day and it is still on her refrigerator. Walgreens also does personalized photo cards which is nice and easy.

We will be doing a brunch with my MIL and dinner with my mom. Honestly, the day is for me being that I have 2 sons but it is also about my mom and my husbands mom. We even see my grandma on Mother's day at my moms house. If we chose not to see anyone - they all probably would be a little upset but would get over it but honestly I would feel bad. I have a prettt close family though.

Canvas and kids washable paint, did DD's foot prints in a form of a flower. It actually came out really nice.

Mothers Day

I would get a potted plant or hanging plant and maybe a gift certificate for her hair or nails.

We see both my mom and MIL on mother's day. I would feel really bad if we didn't, they are after all our mother's. I would be upset if my children didn't want to see me on mother's day when they are married and have children.

I did it with my twins handprints and then I painted a little scene around the prints and made them into flowers. It came out sooo cute!!
