Since this board gets more traffic...

i'm not from Long Island, but I ate at a restaurant called Cabo in RVC and it was amazing!

barneys- locust valley ( havent been in a long time)
popeis - bethpage - because its fresh and cheap! late night menu is all day if you sit at the bar! cant beat 12-17$ lobsters!
other than that, im always disappointed. I was craving chocolate cake so we went to ciao baby on sunrise hwy last weekend. it was fkn DIRTY!!!!!!!!!! plates had crusty stains on them. the dipping sauce bowl was questionable... it looks like they just add more sauce to the bowl instead of giving each customer a fresh one. I hope Im wrong.

I always thought that place was horrible. Oh look a huge meatball. Who cares if it tastes like crap. 
I never understand the huge line and wait. I'd rather eat Olive Garden.

The only places I can repeatedly eat at and not get tired of the menu are
Rumba in Hampton Bays (or Rhum in Patchogue now)
CowFish in Hampton Bays
Pico's in Bayshore

It is unbelievable how good this place is in terms of food and service. The staff is SO NICE. I have never, in my life, been to a restaurant that I like so much.
I also really like Palominos in Franklin Square, Plattduetsche Park in Franklin Square, R.S. Jones in Merrick, Smokin' Al's in Massapequa, Besito in Huntington or Roslyn, and Big Daddy's in Massapequa. Glow in Floral Park has excellent sushi, and I've been to Pretty Toni's in Valley Stream only once, but it was superb.

See, I actually like Ciao Baby even though I find it super cheesy. It's definitely not the best food I've ever had but it's fairly decent for a kid-friendly place.
