Infant tongue sticking out a lot?

Did anyone's infant do this? My baby is 2.5 months, with the tongue sticking out often, either licking, just protruding a bit or tongue resting between the teeth. I did notice at birth the tongue was slightly between the lips at times, but it's not all the time. Did anyone's DC do this? If you google it, it is worrisome but not sure if it's just normal infant behavior. I did speak to my pediatrician about it but he did say could be normal, could not be, let's see.

Mine are the same age and both do it. Totally normal- tongue discovery and sensory input! Just exploring and being more "body aware!"

Your baby has teeth already? Could that be why his or her tongue is out, like feeling the teeth? My babies didn't do this but also didn't get teeth until a year old. Once they were teething, I felt like they stuck out their tongues and drooled a lot more.

Two of my 3 sons did it non stop. It was kind of funny. It's fine.

Are there issues with eating? Like, does your DC take a long time to drink a bottle? My DD had her tongue out all the time. Our ped said it was totally normal at that age (about the same age as your DC). Then one of my husbands clients was a feeding therapist and he talked to her about it, she saw how DD's tongue was out and how DD was taking so long to finish a bottle. She said it was poor muscle tone in her jaw. She showed us how to hold her bottle and use our pinky finger to hold her chin while she ate and it made a world of difference. DD was eating faster and feeling satisfied with her bottles in 20 minutes rather than an hour it took her to eat and slowly over time her jaw muscles strengthened and her tongue slowly started staying in her mouth. Sometimes it's not normal and there are ways to help. If you are having issues with your DC and eating or if your DC has a binky and the binky wont stay in DC's mouth and DC is getting upset by it, see a feeding therapist. I think you can get an early intervention evaluation for that but I'm not sure.

No teeth yet, only 2months old.

I don't think it is taking too long to finish. We definitely don't have an issue with eating and gaining weight, etc. When DC was first born, for a few weeks, DC's tongue would thrust against the bottle nipple for a few tries, until I could finally get it in. Now that does not happen anymore, but the tongue out most of the time does. The pacifier does fall out sometimes, not all the time. I felt it was being pushed out for some reason, but I am not really sure what is normal. My other child did not like the pacifier.

My DC did this too and just eventually grew out of it. I remember being worried about it also.
