Kalahari with baby

Our family is having a big family reunion at Kalahari next week. Im still so undecided as to whether we should go because we have a 2 month old. With our first two lods i wouldve never taken them but my 6 year old is begginf to go my 2 year old would have a blast with his cousons his same age and my husband would love to make the reunion. I myself dont plan on going on any rides/water slides etc. Do i was thinking i can pretty much take care of the baby and keep her away from things i dont want her near or expoaed to. But also on the fence about the long car ride for a 2 month old. Please help! Opinions/advice. 2 days. Would you go.??

Do you live on Long Island? That's not really a long car ride. It takes us 2.5-3 hours to get to the Poconos from Port Jeff. Your other kids will enjoy it, and the 2 month old would just be going along for the ride. So I would go! Especially since it's a family reunion.

Yeah just go. It's not that bad of a ride.
Unless your baby is a colicky mess like mine was- no way could I take a 2.5 hour car ride of non stop screaming and then I'd worry about the people in the rooms next to us in the hotel- because she would scream and cry ALL NIGHT at that age.

Just another thing to consider, that I just thought of- the fumes from the chlorine in the waterpark area are very strong.
Within an hour my eyes and throat were burning.
So it's probably not best to have the baby in there for long periods of time.
That's the only thing- you might get bored or lonely if you have to stay in the hotel room or the lobby etc for hours while everyone is in the waterpark.

I wouldn't mind the drive, if DH was ok watching the kids alone. When we went just before DD2 turned 2, it was nice to have someone go with her up to the slide and someone at the bottom catching her. (She didn't want to go under and we needed to make sure she cleared away before the next person went down.) Adults were only allowed down 2 of the slides, so that made it more difficult for one person to stick with her.

I honestly probably wouldn't bc I wouldn't want my husband to have to watch the two other kids alone... AT those ages they can do different things and I know MY kids would be wanting to run in two different directions and I wouldn't feel right about one of us having to take that on by ourselves. .. not in a waterpark.

I have a similar dilemma with Great Wolf Lodge except my newborn will be only 6 weeks old. I will most likely stay home.

I do plan to take a 2m old to Florida though for spring break. She will have had her shots.

We took our 3 month old to kalahari, it worked out great. The older kids had a blast and baby was calm watching the water and kids running around. We let him splash in the baby section and showered him right after. There were many new babies there with older siblings.
