can you privately hire a SEIT?
My daughter is speech and language delayed. She will be attending a typical preschool next year. I'm looking to privately hire a SEIT for 2-3 hours a week to help bridge the gap in the classroom.
The school is on board with it bit I don't know how to go about privately hiring one.
Does anyone know people who do this?

Yes you can. A lot of times what happens is parents ask their current/past SEIT. Or asks their related service people for a recommendation. Most agencies do not do this and you would have to search on your own. I would suggest asking any friends/in a local group for recommendations of teacher names.

Did you ask for SEIT when you had your cpse meeting - my son had a speech delay and we were able to get one for him

You certainly can! I work as a SEIT and 2 options are pay privately or if they have a BCBA with a license they can bill your insurance if the primary diagnosis is autism

Thanks for the replies. My daughter is transitioning from cpse to cse. But I am not enrolling her in kindergarten so I highly doubt district will provide me with SEIT.
Just have to figure out how to find one on my own now.
