I'm just now hearing 2 female dogs might be of a problem (dominance, fighting)
The puppy is fixed Our 2 year old is not.
Anyone have experience with this?

Re: 2 female dogs???
Fix the 2 year old.
Puppy will follow older dog around and allow her to dominate her. That is until she gets a little older and more daring. Eventually one will eatablish dominance and that'll be that. But it will be better when your older dog is fixed. Without the hormones driving her
It is harder w 2 female dogs but not impossible. Unless one is vicious to begin with. Just pay attention to their actions. See how they are around each other w toys and affection from family members. Feed separately and if you give them Bones, put them in their crates (If they have them) or at least in different rooms so there won't be a fight over that.
Time will tell how they will be together

The 2 year old may take the puppy in as a baby to her but if she gets too rough/mean, I would fix her. I would have her fixed anyway for health reasons but obviously that's your business.

Re: 2 female dogs???
We've had our new puppy for 1 month & so far so good. They play, wrestle, eat together, walk together. The baby is always annoying our 2yo, pulling her tail etc & she's so tolerant. We're still on the fence about fixing her. We wanted her to grow to her full size, but also thought to breed her (she's an AKC GSD) but I think the reality is, we don't have time for that. We are keeping an eye for when she goes into heat again. But she's protective of her. Bella the puppy is fearful of other dogs & our 2yo keeps her close on walks.

Re: 2 female dogs???
we have 2 female dogs. they are different breeds. Do they fight? Sometimes.... But it's usually because one has a toy and the other does not... They don't sleep together but they will play with each other. and they do miss each other when the other isn't there.
My SIL has 2 of the same breed and they love each other. they sleep together. Never fight.

Thank you, that's good reassurance! It's been almost 2 months & your behave like my 2 kids. They share everything from water-time, eat side by side, even chew toys (even though we tried to give them their own). So hopefully this will just continue.
