Yes, the people HAVE spoken
Why are you even replying to these women who can't handle a difference of opinion? This board for months has bashed Trump supporters, over, and over, and over again. We were called names, and made to feel stupid and uneducated. Women would give their stance, to be shut down.
Trump has been elected, and the same is still going on. Why bother? They will never see the other side. I have had great debates today with women who supported Hillary. They respected my view, and I theirs. There was no bashing, no degrading, just sharing ideas. I am so sick of seeing the same women on this board bash and lash out at people. Get a life.
I have not commented on most of these threads because the immaturity is just not worth my time, and this will be my last post, but I just had to say one last thing.

I don't visit LIF much anymore but I thought I'd stop by and see if anyone was talking about the election results. Totally unreal that the same group of people that were bashing republicans for the last two elections are still doing so now.
How on earth are we the hateful people when all the democrats are the ones that say such hateful things to ANYONE with a different opinion???
None of you on the left "know "me or anyone else that voted for trump, how dare you use a WIDE Hateful brush to paint us all to fit your narrative?

I agree. I didn't get too involved on these threads b/c I don't feel like putting my energy into, and no one will change my mind. But I could not care less that Hillary did not win, even if she is a woman like myself. To quote someone else (not to take credit) - I don't vote with my vagina. But I would not be attacking anyone should Hillary have won. Disgusting.

Yeah, they kind of have to work with him if they want their own country to survive. That's how international relations works. I disagree that we want Russia as an ally. I don't. Not with Putin in charge anyway.
Angela Merkel had an interesting response. Basically saying that Germany will try to work with you (we are kind of forced to), but if you have no respect for human beings, we won't stand for it because that is not what both countries were founded on. I took it as a back handed congratulations.
Hollande wasn't impressed either saying it's a period of uncertainty and urging other European nations to defend their interests.
Just wait for something to go wrong. The US will lose some of its major allies. Not that I'm hoping for that, but let's be realistic here.
As for moving on and understanding other viewpoints... Do you really expect people to put aside their feelings on misogyny and racism? What the? That's a big fat nope. It shouldn't be swept under the rug. I'm not sure when intolerance became a "viewpoint" or "opinion."

You are supporting a man whose running mate and now Vice President elect stripped funding from Planned Parenthood which many believe resulted in an outbreak of HIV in Indiana, he supported (and signed) the "Religious Freedom" bill which as we all know encourages discrimination against same sex couples, and while a congressman he voted against environmental legislation, and wants to open up the Atlantic to offshore drilling.
To cast a vote for those two, and then say you're not racist or homophobic etc has a really hollow ring to it.

I respect your opinion. But I think people in those states have a big issue with Hillary not because she is a woman, but because she is untrustworthy. That was the shift. Or the fact that after 8 years with Obama, people are not happy and want a change. I really don't think it's bc she is a woman b/c I think if that were the case, I think those same people would have had an issue with Obama being black 8 years ago.
It took 50 years after black men were given the right to vote, to extend that right to women. I just hope it doesn't take that long to elect a female president following a black one. Trump got HUGE majority of the white male vote. Misogyny had a great deal to do with this election. David Duke's comments demonstrate racism played a part as well.

Racism played a part in this election; no denying that when you have people like David Duke speaking out. With that said that's not the only thing HRC could have done a little more as far as going to some of the rural areas in blue states instead of to a degree ignoring those folks.
For the original poster and any other poster that is in HIDING in there support of Donald Trump is asinine. If that's your candidate you shouldn't have a problem coming out and supporting him instead of hiding. Makes you look weak and a coward.

By no means am I a Donald Trump supporter but For many years Donald Trump was a Democrat /Independent and I believe still is at heart because he to a degree separated himself from the traditional conservative Republican Party. Only since President Obama he flipped to the Republican Party and it would be easier to run on the Republican ticket opposed to democratic or independent ticket.

How about being real that this IS happening all across the country. I know several people personally whose children have already experienced hateful comments or saw disgusting graffiti. Trump did nothing to discourage his supporters' expressions of hate. Now, many of those supporters think it's okay to openly express those feelings and act on them. I'm not saying all of his supporters feel this way, but don't discount the negative effects his election has already had and will continue to have on people who are perceived as different.

I agree. Unemployment and high insurance premiums can't be blamed on Obama but every horrible thing said in this country can be blamed on Trump.

If you are talking about those above images ONE is enough! Why would you turn it around to say not all of them are true? If even ONE person is attacking someone based on hate and using Trumps name it is enough to realize its an issue!
I want to know why Trump supporters keep defending him and instead dont speak up on his behalf and promise the groups of Americans who are afraid of what he and his administration will do and say "we are behind you"!

You have such tunnel vision that you can't even acknowledge that Trump incited hate with his comments throughout the campaign and his failure to separate himself from his supporters who expressed their racist views at his rallies. There was a reason why the KKK openly endorsed him.
Obama condemned the police shootings. What has Trump done to condemn his supporters' actions both during the campaign and following it?

I can't believe what I am seeing on here. The amount of hate being spewed by Hilary supporters is very sad. He was elected, everyone needs to accept it and try to make it work. If you support her, go by her speech and unite and work together. How do any of you spewing hate think you are any better than Trump????
It's very sad and disappointing to think that some of you could be neighbors or your kids go to the same school as mine. I just hope you are saving your hate and ranting for here and not doing this in front of your kids. Talk about teaching hate. Look in the mirror.
I am not thrilled with the outcome, but I haven't been for years. You accept it and move on and try to work together!!

This!!! It's is real. It is happening to my coworkers. In NYC where we are supposed to be more of a melting pot. we cannot brush the hate under the rug anymore. We have a duty to stand up for others. Just because I'm not a target of the hate means I can sit back.....I have a duty to others to stand with them and make sure I do not allow the hate happen around me. I have a duty to try to educate others.

There are a large # of people who voted for Trump because "make America great again" = white Christian america to them. This is a fact. The things Trump has said make haters think its ok. Trumps name is associated with hate. We see his name next to a swastika above. Trumps job is to say he will not stand for this now.
