Our cleaning crew leaves our house immaculate. We pick up and put away basically EVERYTHING before they come but only maybe once did I notice a tiny bit of dust where they missed. Otherwise, zero complaints and we are neat freaks, especially DH.

I just went through 9 month of looking for a new cleaning lady after my previous women retired. I kept using people who were recommended and quite honestly none of them were good, I had to clean after they left, etc. I've learned that everyone's opinion of " she's great" is different as people have different expectations. After going though 4 diff people I finally landed on one that I am happy with but she charges $120 - which was more than I was paying before- but she stays for 6-7 hours. In my area $20 an hour seems to be the going rate and it does take aboit 6-7 hours to really clean my house well . Try someone else , you are not being unreasonable!

Not unreasonable. Mine barely cleans anything. I complained once, it was better the next time she came and now back to nothing. I don't know anyone in the area so it's hard to get recommendations.

I just had a new woman come do a first time deep cleaning.. hadn't had a cleaning lady in a very long time...my house was clean, neat and surface cleaned. I have a ranch, 4 br, 2 bth. She was there about 8 hours (did a very thorough job..windows, blinds, light fixtures, under beds, couches, floors etc etc..). She charged us $140 and quoted us $80 every 2 weeks. I did not have to "reclean" at all. Even my mom who's an ocd neat freak was at my house yesterday and was impressed. I think in my opinion she overcharged u and didn't even seem to do a great job. I would find someone else.

I've had the same thing happen to me in the past. I used a well known service with good reviews. I pre-cleaned and told them not to clean a few rooms. They offered things like cleaning the fridge, washing windows, changing bedding etc. I didn't want any of that.
My house is 5 bedrooms 3 bathrooms but the rooms are not large and they didn't clean every room
They charged me $340 and I needed to re-clean some areas. My house didn't feel sparkling clean.
Needless to say I was disappointed.

Now I use a woman that a few of my neighbors use, she works by herself and she's an animal lol. She's really tiny but she's strong, she moves furniture, etc. She charges $135 for my regularly scheduled visits but she cleans every room and my house always looks and smells amazing when she's done.

My company and boss (and personally myself as well) use Carlos from Maxiclean - he is wonderful and throrough and your house will sparkle like never before. Plus he is a legit, insured company. 631-813-5480 and he will go everywhere on the island/boroughs.

Are my expectationns unreasonable?

not unreasonable at all. i could have written this post myself a year ago. i hired someone for a deep clean. i said, i do not need a regular cleaning, i need someone to do all the stuff i never get around to on a regular basis, like moving furniture. i was ASSURED this is what they were going to do. they charge per hour and spent the time cleaning. but like you, i had to go back and clean after them. and they never moved ANY furniture. i was pissed and never hired them again. if you find a company that can truly do a deep clean, please post their info because i will hire them in a second!

I'm tempted to call. I'm not thrilled with my person to be honest. Does he do the work himself or does he have a crew that he sends?

He has a crew but I know he is very involved and generally goes to the jobs as well to supervise. When he did my boss house (6k sqft) he had like 11 people for 15 hours!

Not unreasonable at all. It is helpful to have the same person every time, that way they can focus on certain things that don't necessarily have to get done every week. I pay a lot but my cleaning ladies are very thorough and will sometimes even organize my closet and clean out old stuff in the refrigerator. You have to be very specific in what you want them to do. You are a paying customer and deserve to get what you want. Maybe leave a list.
