Introducing Myself
After lurking for quite awhile, I finally decided to join LIF 
My DH, 20 month old DD and I are moving from Brooklyn to Greenlawn/Harborfields this summer and super excited! We grew up in North Shore Nassau County and are familiar with Huntington, but that's about it in Suffolk.
Would love advice on things to do with a toddler, places to eat, nails, hair salons, etc. I'm also looking into a 2's program starting in the fall if anyone has any recommendations.
Plus I need friends (I'm nice I promise!). All of our friends are on the South Shore and we know no one in our new hood.

Hi!!
Step by Step is a wonderful pre-school. It's in the Dix Hills Evangelical Free Church on Foxhurst Road.
My son is almost eight and we still regularly see his buddies from pre school. I made a lot of friends through the program as well.
The staff are warm and loving and the curriculum is perfect. I visited some pre k programs that thought they were college prep. Seriously...

Hi and welcome! I was born and raised and still a resident of Greenlawn! Welcome to the neighborhood! I would absolutely check out the Harborfields Public Library, as a librarian myself (not in that library) they have some great children's programs even for your DD's age! Hi! Welcome! I'm not a mom but used to do some work for Island Kids.. I believe they have a place in Green-lawn. I got a behind-the-scenes look at the place and can say I would definitely put my child there if I lived in the area. Granted, I'm not sure how they compare in price to others (because again, I don't have kids). I felt really comfortable with how they spoke about the kids.
