Wine glasses

Do you have a wine glass you love?

I have a set of Lennox wine glasses that I'm afraid my kids are going to knock over and break.

I had some of those Lolita wine glasses with the decorations but they don't seem to last longer than a year.

I would love something durable, even better if its nice looking.
Right now looking at this one

Re: Wine glasses

For every day I have a set from Bed Bath- it's like 4 glasses in a box for $19.99. (plus the 20% coupon)
Super cheap but they feel nice in the hand and are durable- and dishwasher safe.
And if they break, for that price, who cares?

I can't even tell you how many sets of wineglasses I have broken, and no kids here! I have my "good" glasses, but for everyday I just go to HomeGoods, TJ's etc...can get beautiful sets for under $10. That way I don't feel bad when I inevitably break them!

I have a 4 pack of stemless from target. Bought them years ago and they've really held up. They get a lot of use.

I broke down and got cheap ikea glasses for entertaining. They are a bit fragile but at less than a dollar each, I don't care. I got 18 and 2 broke. But any glass would have broke in these situations. They are dishwasher safe.

I never use and regret the crystal glasses from my wedding. Who has time to hand wash and they are so flimsy!

I bought a bunch of individual ones from Christmas Tree Shop. They're the same style in all different jewel tones. I think there were $4 each.

Re: Wine glasses

Thanks! I think I'll go with the suggestion of acrylic since they aren't breakable. They have a set of 4 at Target for $22.99.

Wine glasses

Funny bc I was going to post something similar.
I don't use my crystal ones bc I don't want to break them.
But I have GONE through so many of my "everyday" glasses now!
I had crate and barrel ones and Lenox ones for everyday that I have broke at least 4.
and now on Easter my DH broke 1 of my Twine glasses from Tiffanys.
I need REAL cheap every day ones!

I love my Williams-Sonoma Lead Free wine glasses. I got them after reading about the crystal glasses not being a great idea for daily use, especially for women of childbearing age. I really got them for that reason alone but they're great. I have to really look for the etching on the base to figure out if I have one of the good Riedel crystal glasses or the lead free. They're $24 for 4 of them, so not super cheap but not $50 a glass either.

Re: Wine glasses

I use my "good" crystal all the time - there's NO point to spending that kind of money for soemthing to sit in a cabinet for 25 years - if they break, so what?

if I have a big party or a lot of people over (or my Father in law) I have really nice, really big wine glasses from the Dollar Tree of all places Chat Icon Chat Icon
But those bad boys don't break !!

I went through Crate and Barrel, William & Sonoma and a few sets from BBB before I finally wised up -

Re: Wine glasses

I got a bunch from HomeGoods that I love. They were cheap...maybe $20 for a box of 6. I love them because they're HUGE and they hold a lot of wine. They're pretty sturdy and we've never broken any. But even if I do, they're cheap enough that I don't care about replacing them. They look nice too for when we have company.

Re: Wine glasses

Speaking of this, I feel like I want to start serving wine out of the "correct" type of glass, kwim?
But I am clueless.

I know that red wine is supposed to be served in a different glass than white, and even red wine glass there are different types based on the TYPE of red.

This is all very confusing and annoying, but I feel like I'm serving my wine out of the wrong glasses all the time!

I know what you mean and I feel like that could end up being both expensive and taking up a lot of space. There are like 3 - 5 different types of glasses for red wine alone. I serve all types of wine in the same glasses. Our family and friends aren't wine snobs....they're all lushes and they could care less how it's served. They just want to drink it. They'd drink it straight out of the bottle if they had to Chat Icon
