Flu Shot
My doctor let me know that I can get the flu shot but didn't have an opinion either way if I should or not....
Did everyone get one? Not get one?

i did. I don't normally but when preggo i do. I happened to be at my primary care for pink eye and they offered so I took it.

I got it. This pregnancy and last. Didn't get it last year and I got the flu and gave it to DH who also didn't get the shot. DD thankfully had the shot and was not affected.

Absolutely, I got it for both of my pregnancies. Having the flu while pregnant is very dangerous, especially to the baby. Not to mention that being sick while pg sucks, so I'd do anything to avoid getting sick!

I got it for both pregnancies. I've also heard it helps protect the baby after they are born so they're less likely to catch the flu as a newborn.

I *tried* to get it, but EVERY place I tried would not immunize a pregnant woman. My OB said to ask for the preservative free shot and no one carried it- not my regular doctor, CVS, Rite Aid, my office, my OB, anywhere!
ETA: I don't usually get it when not pregnant and I did have the flu in 2014.

The CVS I go to only had the preservative free. Had no issues there. Never got the shot before but will from now on. No side effects and the baby is protected to some degree

CVS, Rite Aid, etc will only have preservative free shots. Preservative free shots are the ones that come in individual doses, which all of the pharmacies use. Maybe you were talking to people who weren't educated about the vaccines?

Really? I went directly to the pharmacy at both and they both told me they would not vaccinate pregnant women.  Maybe it was a policy at their location?

I did, get it. My OB didn't push it to hard but I feel better getting it since I am pregnant all winter.

Yep I got it. I wouldn't chance getting the flu while pregnant. No issues getting it at my local Duane Reade!
