New puppy soon. Now what??

So I know I need the crate, dog bed, leash, collar, bowls, and some toys. Obviously dog food. Been doing research on some of the best dog food and treats, but would also love ideas.
I heard Kirkland brand is good too, but other opinions are helpful.

Also have dog gates I forgot to add.

Any helpful hints? It's been about 5 years since our last dog so I need some help.

Thanks!!

Spray everything with bitter apple before you bring the dog home. We did and didn't have a problem with the puppy chewing the furniture. Also got the teething puppy bones and when he did go to chew on the furniture we would give him that.

Re: New puppy soon. Now what??

Puppy wipes (or Unscented baby wipes) to keep him/her clean in between baths

Puppy shampoo (or baby shampoo)

Brush & comb if long hair or curry brush if short
Brush the pup often to get him / her used to it

Natures miracle for accidents

Teething treats

We use natural choice lamb and rice dog food. They went from puppy to adult with chicken and rice. And now they are on light food lamb & rice

Treats we give them old mother Hubbard and wellness brand. Also they love love love carrots as treats.

Wellness CORE is a really great brand that our lab has been very happy on. We buy it from Chewy.com and have it come at regular intervals (every 8 weeks).

They make a puppy formula but we use the Large Breed one as our dog is now 5. She was getting diarrhea a lot on Blue Buffalo. But every dog is different.
Wellness Natural

I also recommend a deer antler for chewing...they last forever and are almost indestructible.

I second the Old Mother Hubbard treats - they're great!!

Good luck!!

Re: New puppy soon. Now what??

Erica, you sound like me. We're getting our baby mid-January & I feel like a new mom all over again. I've been doing training research and we bought the leash, bowls, crate and pen.

I just found a cool stuffed animal baby that has a mom's heartbeat. They have different varieties.

I figure that will help her transition easier being away from her mom.
