Re: Chris Pratt for Mens Health
not trying to take anything away form him, because i think he's great, but every time i see him, it makes me cringe.
he's being treated exactly like hollywood women, and somehow, because he's a guy, it makes me even more offended.
he had a few parts, none leading-man material when he was "fat". THEN he loses weight and all of a sudden he's getting leads in marvel movies and jurassic world. I would LIKE to think that Hollywood finally woke up to how funny and talented he is, but considering how much talk there is of his weight loss, he got them because he looks hot now.
you see it all the time with women. any time they have a baby all anyone talks about is how fast they lose the weight. seeing it done to a guy... somehow makes is even more shocking to me
sorry for the Friday morning rant. getting off the now!

Re: Chris Pratt for Mens Health
Not to White Knight for him but, he was cast as Star Lord/Peter Quill when he was heavier based on his acting & humor.. losing the weight & getting buff was for that role. He loved the results so much he dropped more weight & took his weight training to like level 10.
I love him either way because he's so adorable & appears to be just your average guy.

Agreed. He actually wasn't even supposed to be a recurring character on Parks & Rec, but he was so funny with his ad-libbed lines, they decided to write him into the story. If you watch the first few episodes it actually says "Guest Starring Chris Pratt".

Yup! He had already gotten the part of Star Lord/Peter Quill prior to losing the weight.

I actually prefer him a little more Andy Dwyer, but happy to see him getting the success he deserves

Re: Chris Pratt for Mens Health
oh wow! In the interview of this magazine he said he was a yo yo dieter...
The actor's weight yo-yoed for years, after he packed on the pounds for NBC's Parks and Recreation. "I saw myself in an episode, and in the matter of two moments very close together, I thought, 'Oh my God, I'm getting fat,'" Pratt, 35, recalls in Men's Health U.K.'s July issue. "And then almost immediately I did something else and I thought, 'Holy crap, I've never seen myself funnier.' And I put the two together."
Pratt had voluntarily gained weight for his role on the hit TV show, which ended earlier this year after seven seasons. "I said to the creators that I wanted to get fatter for the role. They loved it. I announced it to the whole cast, and then it became a bit of a game: how fat can I get and how fast can I get that fat," the actor remembers. "I would eat three or four cheeseburgers at every table read."
At his heaviest, Pratt weighed 300 lbs. Gaining weight was easy. Losing it was hard.
When he slimmed down for his role in 2011's Moneyball, Pratt "lost about 35 pounds" in six weeks. "I ran five or six miles a day. I ate leafy green salads and protein shakes. I cut out all alcohol. Trim, trim, trim," the actor says. "Finally I sent them a photo and it was, 'Hey, they want to see you again.' Yes!"
He got ripped for his role as a Navy SEAL in 2012's Zero Dark Thirty, but he gained the weight back for Delivery Man and Parks and Recreation. But after seeing a screening of Zero Dark Thirty, he wanted to make a change. "I'd gone back and forth, lost weight for Moneyball, got fat again, then trimmed down for Zero Dark Thirty, then gained it all back again for Andy. That's when I saw Zero Dark Thirty and right after walking out I was like: 'I'm going to get in shape and I'm never going to be fat again,'" Pratt recalls.
The actor stayed true to his word and appeared even more muscular in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. "When I was fat and unhappy, the only moments of respite I got was when I was eating. Now mealtimes are sometimes lame, because that's the way it can be when you're eating healthily. But all the time between meals, I feel great," says Pratt, who next appears in Jurassic World. Regarding the downside of being fat, he tells the magazine, "I was impotent, fatigued, emotionally depressed. I had real health issues that were affecting me in a major way. It's bad for your heart, your skin, your system, your spirit."

I know i will get flamed for this and im not trying to be snarky... but when can we all just face reality about why most not all but most famous people are famous. They are in hollywood because they are above average. Most leading men and women are better looking than the average person and thats why we love them. No im sorry i dont want to see an unattractive out of shape man as my leading man in 50 shades of grey. Or the lead role in Argo. Or in The Town. Or in Good Will Hunting. we love to see good looking people in lead roles. In sex scenes. In romances.
Its not fair, but why do you think jennifer lopez is still in movies? Cause shes an amazing actress???
It may not be right or fair but we are all guilty of it. We all enjoy it. We all love a good looking guy or girl. And we all love makeovers. Chris pratt is a true makeover story. Its inspiring too. And if nothing else comes from it i bet you he may inspire quite a few men to work out and lose weight.

So true!!!!
Movies, Hollywood, celebrities..............they are an "escape" from reality. Sure, they are "real people" but because they are famous the reality is, they are held to a different standard of beauty. As the above poster mentioned, we ALL want to see hot, hard bodied men in movies and guys want to see attractive, thin, beautiful women. It's how humans are wired.
As for Chris Pratt, good for him that he lost all that weight and looks good. He looks happy and healthy, can't argue with that!

Re: Chris Pratt for Mens Health
I just love him! But his face is strange because it takes on characteristics of other people sometimes.....in the 2nd picture here, he reminds me of Norm MacDonald....yet in another post, he looked like Paul Rudd....and then he also looks like himself. It's kind of freaky! But he does look fantastic!
