GreenTree Mortgage
Do NOT use this company when securing a mortgage.
If you miss a payment or even pay a partial payment, they use intimidation tactics.
There are plenty of other reputable bankers from whom to secure a mortgage.

We have them for our second mortgage, it was sold to them.........they weren't our original lender. The only time we had an issue with them was when we were refinancing our first mortgage under the HARP program. They were giving us a very hard time about the subordination of our loan. In the end we got it but it was a nightmare dealing with them.

They bought my mortgage from GMAC. I certainly didn't choose them. I don't think anyone "chooses" them. They are a total nightmare!

Terrible! They bought our mortgage immediately after we refinanced. 6 months later or so, our payment went up by like $37 for escrow or something and my husband forgot to update the amount on the auto payment from the bank. They didn't call us - they called my elderly neighbor to ask her to tell us to make the payment! She was so upset and worried about us! I called our account rep over there and ripped him a new one.

They bought my Citibank mtg too...and I'm annoyed that they have the nerve to charge $12 per online payment....so now I have to deal with stamps and remembering to mail the stupid payment because I refuse to give them an extra $12 a month for no reason.

No autopay? Citi has that. They're allowed to sell to someone who won't give you the same terms?

They have autopay, we use that service with them.

They do have autopay, but you need to send a payment every month. With GMAC, I could send just one isolated payment whenever I chose (for no charge).
GreenTree charges for one-time payments.
