tricycle question 2.5 year old

We are going to get a tricycle for my daughter for xmas and im just wondering from anyone who has experience

is it worth it to spend the $ on one that grows with her?
O
Just get a cheaper version that we would just buy her a new one in a year or 2 or however long it is that she would outgrow it?

tricycle question 2.5 year old

I would stick with a cheap trike. We are getting our 3.5 year old a small bike now. He can still ride his trike but its time to move up to a small bike.

Re: tricycle question 2.5 year old

My 4.5 yr old is still perfectly happy on a trike.
I think 2.5 is perfect to start... And 2 solid years from a toy is a lot.
I love the trikes with the bar to control esp if you don't have a very flat driveway.

We have this one, inexpensive, but still grows with them and have had a great time with it.

My boys just turned 3. we don't have tricycles yet but will wait until spring. They wouldn't really be riding now anyway so will see how big they are then.

If you are getting your child one for xmas. Where/when will they ride it? Can it fit in yoru basement

Re: tricycle question 2.5 year old

dd1 did great with the radio flyer tricycle . she got hers for christmas when she was 2.5 and in the summer when she was 3 was fully able to ride it without help. it was a smooth ride and easy for her to peddle.
i think they have that brand with handle too.
the handle prob would have helped in the beginning.

We have the radio fler fold 2 go trike. DD got it for her 2nd birthday and was able to ride it a little right away. At 2.5 she does pretty well but needs help turning and gets stuck often but she loves it (and she's a weakling and not all that coordinated). She also loves the "treasure chest" on the back. All the other ones we tried were too big for her at the time so I was glad this one fit her right away. The ones with handles seem to be bigger so it would be longer before they could pedal it anyway.
