We are picking up our Beagle rescue on Saturday!!
We are so excited! It is happening a little sooner than I expected so we need to get prepared quick! She is 2-3 years old, spayed, and house trained. My DH is a dog person and owned several but I've only had one and I was in HS so I wasn't around much for most of her life.
Any advice? Product recommendations?

We have a rescue beagle too!
I love love love love beagles - they can be stubborn as anything, but they are the sweetest dogs.
they are usually HIGHLY food motivated, so although they are stubborn they will work for food! They are smart and can get bored so make sure to have a lot toys for her - my beagle loves the food/puzzle type games.
Since they are scent hounds, they can pull on the leash - we find a harness is much better to walk her with.

Thanks for the advice! A friend of ours also has a beagle and he also recommended the food/puzzle toy...he said it entertains their dog for hours!!

I had a beagle for 16 years while I was growing up. The best advice I can give is because they are so food motivated is to keep the garbage out of reach.
They are such great dogs! Please post pictures!

It went great! She's a sweetheart. She constantly follows us around and wants to be rubbed. Shes sleeping right next to me now!  She's a little subdued but I'm sure she's just a bit stressed from the transport from Tennessee and the adjustment. Plus, she was pregnant when she was brought to the shelter so she had babies not too long ago. She's been well behaved and no accidents, which is great but hadn't been left alone for more than a couple hours. I gated her in our mud room today but she jumped it so it looks like she will have the run of the house 
I'll to post pics from my iPad or the ones from petfinder until I get to doing it from my laptop.
Here is adoption listing

She is absolutely beautiful! I love beagles so much. Poor girl has been through a lot and is lucky to have a wonderful home with you (and I am sure you will be lucky to have her too!). What a beauty! Congrats!!!!

We are picking up our Beagle rescue on Saturday!!
Congratulations! We have an 8 year old beagle and he is such a great dog! Beagles will follow a scent and run with it - very important to have the dog on a leash in open areas or protected by a solid fence unless they are exceptionally well trained(mine is not!) I also agree with what everyone else said :)

We are picking up our Beagle rescue on Saturday!!
I have two puggles. My girl puggle is mainly beagle and is very hungry. She loves food and will do anything for food. Just make sure food is out of her reach and I agree with the harness. It's safer to walk them because they are scent driven since they are hounds. I love my babies though.
