Question for anyone who has four kids?

I'm just curious how it is to have four kids. I hear from so many that going from two to three kids is much harder then going from three to four. I just can't see that as possible but what do I know. I just had my third and thought for sure I would be done. I guess because I had a third boy, I can't officially say I'm done. My mother in law is pushing for a fourth too haha! Not in a bad way. She is happy with her three.
I have decided that when my third is two, I will decide. Three has been hard, but not as horrible as I thought it would be. Just a lot harder to do everything and go anywhere. I'm probably 90% sure I'm done. Plus my desire for a girl is what is pushing me and I don't want to have a child just to try for a girl. It's looks like it's in my favor to have another boy. Four boys sounds scary! I'm already so outnumbered ha!

Re: Question for anyone who has four kids?

I have 4 kids all 2 years apart. It was definitely hard to go from 2 to 3. After that its no big deal just another one. It does get easier in a few years when they are more mobile, but I think it will always be difficult. I have a 9,7,5,3. Three of them will be in school this year so the homework after school is always an issue. Sometimes the chaos is crazy but most of the time its fine.

Re: Question for anyone who has four kids?

I have 4. 3 boys and a girl. The middle boys are twins and my girl was a complete surprise. It gets crazy sometimes but I can't say my 4th made things harder, however she did follow twins and the twins were very draining. The kids are now 9, 6, 6, and 3. Homework is definitely an issue since all the boys are in special ed for various delays.

There are also other issues we run into being a family of six but we just make it work.

Question for anyone who has four kids?

I'm in an almost identical spot. We have 3 girls. We were certain we'd be done at 3 and planned for dh to have vasectomy. When my youngest was about 5 to 6 months, dh said he wanted a fourth. Took me a bit to get on board only because I want to give the ones we have all the attention and financial resources they deserve (extra curriculars, college, etc). Once I got on board, dh waffled. We both go back and fourth. I actually found two to three very easy. My fears are that things are so perfect now and the dynamic we have can't be beat. But I love everything about having and raising children, and my girls adore having siblings and are always wanting us to have another. Dh would love to have a boy. At this point, I'm scared to have a boy and wold think another girl would be great. We have also decoded to wait until my youngest is two for a final decision.

I know such a tuff descions. I worry I won't have enough time to give to all of them. It's already hard with three, But I try my best.

Going from 3 to 4 was the hardest or us. Our first 3 were all pretty easygoing and #4 is super high maintenance. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. I love having a big family! It's crazy, but lots of fun, laughter and love. #5 might push me over the edge! LOL

Re: Question for anyone who has four kids?

I have 4 boys. #4 was a total surprise, but i love him to bits. Hardest part is probably that my 2 oldest, who are 7 and 8, are busy and need to be shuttled to various activities, and my 2 youngest are still quite little (2.5 and 15 months) so I find that it is a lot tougher toting along 2 little siblings versus when it was just one. But this is just because of the gap in age between mine. It is becoming easier as my 2yo becomes a little more independent. One more thing to consider is if you like to travel, it is a lot more expensive as a family of six. And your lifestyle. Do you like to have alone time without dc ever? We have both sets of grandparents plus aunts who help out a lot, taking kids for sleepovers if dh and i are going out. (sometimes we divide them, lol.) And the groceries. My god, what i spend on food for these hungry boys. And they are not even that big yet. Just stuff to consider. Other than that, 4 isn't much harder than 3. I like that there is a balance between my older 2 and younger 2, and there is always someone to play with.

I don't have 4 kids, but I'm going from 1 to 3 in a couple months (pregnant with twins) Maybe my dh and I are crazy, but we already agreed on going for a fourth eventually. We always wanted a bigger family, plus I feel like you'll never regret having another child, but could regret not having another.
