Yup! I always read yogurt ingredients because some of them contain gelatin (I'm vegetarian and won't eat that)...I saw tilapia on the ingredients in the store and almost vomited in my mouth.
Gag me with a spoon!

Did you know Muller Fruit Up Yogurt contains...
It sucks b/c they're so good. I stopped eating them after I heard that. And how they use some sort of bug to color the yogurt.

Muller yogurt is Kosher, so the gelatin they use needs to be derived from fish. Hence the Tilapia.

I don't think it's any worse than gelatin that's usually made from pork or beef. I remember students who refused to sell fruit snacks for school fundraisers bc of the gelatin. I don't want to think about how many things it's probably in!

As long as my yogurt doesn't taste like fish I am fine with it. I eat Tilapia anyway so I don't have an issue with Tilapia...just as long as I don't taste it.

When I was in high school and college I used to make Jell-O shots with Ko-gel. Kosher jello! Haha no one ever knew the difference but it was seaweed based gelatin and not animal. And FYI animal based gelatin is ground up bones and cartilage. No thanks.

If you buy the kosher versions of these products, there won't be any animal-based gelatin in them. Look for yogurts with an O-U symbol (letter U in a circle), and as the previous poster said, you can buy kojel, which is kosher jello.

i've known for a while about gelatin coming from animals... but never knew about the kosher perspective on this.
