Moms - has anyone used Dr. Pinchoff in Great Neck? My pedi recommended him as my son's eye appears to be turning in. Also going to go to another doctor recommended by my friend for a second opinion. Anyone else gp through this with an infant? Thanks!

I can not say enough good things about dr. Pinchoff!
We have been going to him since DD was 3 months old. He performed her tear duct surgery.
He is wonderful !

My DD has been seeing Dr. Levi at LI Pediatric Opthamology since she was 10 months old because her left eye drifted out. She is now almost 3 and we were just there this morning for a check-up.

They watched her eyes from that first appointment at 10 months until she turned 2 and then decided to have us patch her left eye. We patched for 7 months and it worked!

She has 20/20 vision and no more drifting.

I highly recommend this practice. They have an office in Plainview and Port Jeff.

Thanks ladies. How intense is the eye exam? They dilate the eyes right?

i ditto this!!!

Dr. Pinchoff was the first doctor i took DS to at 11 months. personally...i didn't like him. i felt he was cold. i get in the grand scheme of things a kid wearing glasses is not the worst thing in the world, but to me, the mother, i felt it was at that time. now hes 4 and i dont care lol i also saw Dr. Benjamin and got the same reaction as Pinchoff.

When i saw Levi...the 3rd opinion...i knew i loved her! and DS loves her too.

We see Dr. Roberts in Plainview. I noticed right before DS's 2nd birthday that his left eye was turning in. It turns out he is far sighted and was straining to see things near him. He got glasses about a month ago and no more turning.

We were at the first appointment for about 2 hours. They do dialate the eyes, which I hated seeing my little guy get so upset because who wants anything dropped in their eyes, but he was fine after that. Just getting him to sit still long enough for them to get a good look was the only difficult part. good luck!

Thanks! Do you think getting an exam 2 days in a row would be too much for a 10 month old?

If they are going to dilate the eyes again, yes.

Yes my DD just saw him and he was great. I would bring my other DD there when she needs to go.

He was very nice to my DD and made so few jokes with her. Yes they did dilate her eyes. She has a hard time at the Drs and scared easily with that. She said the visit was fun. I liked he didn't rush to make a decision but spoke with her and me.
